Moffat County Young Life Summer Camp 2006

Bear River Young Life Summer Camp 2017 — Lost Canyon Resort, Williams, Arizona.
June 24-July 2
Preliminary Trip Info
Dear Parents/guardians
In just a couple of weeks we will be heading to beautiful Northern Arizona to Young Life’s own
Lost Canyon summer camp! See the dates above to put on your calendar. You can learn more about Lost
Canyon at lostcanyon.younglife.org – The cost of the camp is $700, which is expensive. With that said, we
try very hard to make camp accessible for every level of income.
The first requirement is a non-refundable $50 deposit to reserve a student’s spot. At this point, if
you have put down a deposit or earned money for camp, the spot is yours. If you decide not to go to camp
(other than a family emergency) you are financially responsible for your spot. We have lots of fundraising
opportunities available.
Here are what is still available.
41&Change Coffee –
Grown at a Young Life camp in Nicaragua, this is some good stuff! Currently the only option for coffee
sales are online sales. Go to www.41change.com/young-life/bear-river to order or to have someone order.
Type in the camper’s name when asked who it will benefit, and it will be credited to their account.
Community service fundraiser – the final of three community service days is Saturday, June 10. From
9a.m.-1p.m. we will work on a community service project. Then, or even before, students can go out and
get pledges for their community service work. Those pledges get matched up to $125 – the one asterisk is
that this can’t just be a check from parents. The most a parent can pledge is $75. This is so the student has
some ownership in the fundraiser. “Put some skin in the game” if you will.
Car Show & Whittle the Wood week –
Wednesday – girls security – ladies will stay at whittle the wood overnight and check periodically to make
sure everything is all good
Thursday – boys security – same as above
Thursday night – packet stuffing for car show – at 7 p.m. meet at the YL office and we will stuff packets
for the car show
Friday night – come to Yampa Valley bank at 4 p.m. to help set up for the Car Show picnic that evening.
There will also be a group that will go to Whittle the Wood to watch over the car show cars that will be
parked there
Saturday – Car Show concessions – Come to the car show at 9 a.m. and help with the concession stands
selling lots of goodies.
There are also some odd jobs and aerating of yards that can be done for some additional money. Talk to
David Pressgrove about those.
In addition, partial scholarships are available and students who are showing up for other fundraisers are
given first priority. With that said, we don’t want money to be the reason a student can’t go.
If you have any questions please feel free to call me!
