TEAM RAZER
Team Razer is an elite group of world gamers who compete professionally in popular game
titles such as Counter-Strike, StarCraft 2, League of Legends, DotA2, World of Warcraft,
Counter-Strike: Source and many more, investing time, energy and raw skill into becoming
the most impressive players they can be.
Team Razer was conceived as a place to harbor and nurture some of the world's most
astounding gaming talent and, in turn, take an active role in helping us create the world's
most astounding gaming peripherals. For years, Razer has taken the feedback of our progamers to develop products that set the trends in eSports and set an example. We live by our
motto; For Gamers. By Gamers.
Kitted-out with this cutting-edge gaming gear, professional teams such as Counter Logic
Gaming, Team MVP, Team Liquid and Mousesports can compete to their highest possible
potential and create legacies for themselves like few others often do in eSports.
Razer also invests in some of the world's biggest and most prestigious tournaments such as
the Electronic Sports World Cup, the Intel Extreme Masters, Dreamhack, the World Cyber
Games, the IGN Pro League, the TeamLiquid Star League and many other developing and
aspiring tournaments which need the support and funding to ensure the growth of eSports
itself.
BIOGRAPHIES
Min-Liang Tan
Min-Liang Tan is the co-founder, CEO and creative director of Razer. He directs and oversees
the design and development of all Razer products. Tan was born in Singapore and resides in
San Francisco. He graduated from the National University of Singapore Law School and was a
lawyer before he created Razer with Robert Krakoff.
Tan was recently elected to the board of the PC Gaming Alliance. In March 2012 he
contributed
$10,000 USD to the Wasteland 2 Kickstarter project, admitting it was to atone for pirating
Wasteland when he was a child. (Wasteland designer and Interplay CEO Brian Fargo replied
that Tan has more than made up for his piracy of the game.)
Tan has been named one of "The 25 Most Creative People in Tech" by the Business Insider
together with Jonathan Ive and Gabe Newell. He has also been ranked one of the top 40 most
powerful people in gaming by Kotaku in their "The Kotaku Power 40" list.
Robert Krakoff
Robert “Razerguy” Krakoff co-founded Razer with Min-Liang Tan in 1998. What started as a
company with two gamers in small California office has grown into a company of over 400
employees with offices in 10 cities worldwide.
Krakoff graduated UCLA with a journalism degree in 1959 then spent the next 11 years as a
copywriter with McCann Erickson Agency in Los Angeles. In 1971, Krakoff was Vice President of
Marketing at Volume Shoe Corporation in Topeka. By 1975, Krakoff was in Omaha and the
Senior Vice President of Marketing at Richman Gordman Department Stores. It was at Richman
Gordman that Krakoff got his first taste of gaming, playing the early versions of Space Invaders,
Galaga and Centipede.
After leaving Richman Gordman in 1982, Krakoff worked as a retail technology consultant with
companies such as AT&T, IMB and Activision before co-founding Razer. Krakoff, an avid tennis
player, attends various gaming events around the world.
