Essential & Desirable qualifications/pre-requisites
Essential
Must hold a BSc/BA Sports Science/Coaching degree.
Competent in the use of IT software such as Excel, Gamebreaker, Longomatch and
PowerPoint/Keynote.
Experience of working with young athletes.
Clear, enhanced DBS check.
Desirable
Have acquired or in the process of acquiring a MSc/MRes in Performance Analysis.
Relevant professional qualifications (e.g. Prozone, ISPAS etc.).
Experience of working within a leadership/managerial role.
Experience of working within professional football.
Hold a valid, clean driver’s license.
Key responsibilities
Main tasks
To lead and develop the Academy’s Performance Analysis department in line with the
Club’s strategic objectives and the EPPP.
Manage and develop the Academy Performance Analyst and Academy Performance
Analyst Interns.
Manage master databases, both video (subjective) and statistical (objective).
Implement and develop the process of capturing performance across all phases of the
Academy.
Produce and report opposition analysis to coaches and players.
Develop and maintain a framework for Post Match Analysis across all Academy Phases.
Ensure that individual player clips are uploaded to the PMA.
Regulation and management of the PMA (analysis).
Contribute to ongoing staff and player education.
Participate and contribute to all Academy Management Team meetings.
To undertake CPD organised by the Club and other providers.
To provide support to the First Team Performance Analysis department in relation to the
transition of players into the Professional squads.
Specific tasks
Lead the Performance Analysis provision for the U21 age group. These tasks include:
- Match day duties, live code and capture performance, collect statistical data,
provide live feedback.
- Provide players with individualised analysis in the form of player clips and
statistics.
- Provide the coach and players with detailed opposition analysis in both video
and statistical formats.
- Provide post-match analysis in video and statistical format.
- Capture and analyse training sessions.
- Data interpretation (e.g. KPI’s, GPS etc.).
Support and develop the Performance Analysis provision for the U18 age group lead by
the Academy Performance Analyst.
Mange and oversee the Provision of Performance Analysis provided to the remaining
Phases throughout the Academy (FDP, YDP & PDP).
Oversee the maintenance of the master databases, ensuring they are representative and
functional at all times.
Analyse data to identify trends using the master databases.
To work closely with the Academy Performance Analyst to implement effective
working procedures in the following areas:
- Data collection.
- Data management.
- Data analysis.
- Data presentation.
Any other specific tasks relevant to the “whole-club” approach.

Hours: Full Time
Probationary Period: 3 months
