At 12:10 key stage 2 children will go out to play when the mid-day supervisors
will assume responsibility for them.
At approximately 12:30 the first sitting will go out to play and the second
sitting will line up to be escorted into the hall to have their lunch.
A number of pupils who have packed lunch will dine in the hall/calon, while
the remainder will dine in the ffreutur.
Children should be supervised at all times. Mid day supervisors may deal with
incidents or minor accidents that occur but in the event of an emergency the
class teacher or a senior member of staff should be called upon to assist or
advise.
Leaving School Premises
Children should only leave the school premises at the end of the day in an
orderly and well behaved manner. No child should remain on the premises
(nor use the playground equipment at all) for more than ten minutes at the
end of the day, unless they are attending an after school activity.
Only when a note has been received from a parent may a child be allowed to
leave school. The note should be dated and kept. The child should only be
allowed to go home if specifically requested in the note. Where a note
requests a child to leave school early then the child must be collected from
school by an appropriate adult. The child should remain in the classroom until
collected and an adult will sign a declaration assuming responsibility for the
child/children to be released.
Medication
Staff need to be extra vigilant in supervising children who are taking
medicines especially whilst the children are undertaking some activities, in
order that they are not put at risk. (Please see Health and Safety Policy.)
Toliet
Children, who make a request to be excused, should be asked if it is really
necessary. If the answer is in the affirmative, permission should be granted.
Children are encouraged to go to the toilet during break times.
If a child has soiled it is acceptable to phone the parent (depending on the
severity) and ask them to bring a change of clothing and to change the child.
(see Toileting Policy.)
Strangers
Various people visit the school for genuine reasons. Nobody can take offence
if approached politely and asked, “Can I help you?”
Any cause for suspicion the Head teacher or the Deputy should be contacted
immediately.
Visitors and workers at the school will be asked to sign the visitors’ book.
