Climate & Sports Student Summits
Green Sports Alliance
“Student Game Changers for the Planet”
As a response to The White House’s Call to Action on Climate Change and Sports, four Climate & Sports
Student Summits have been developed with the partnership of the Green Sports Alliance. The first student
summit will be held in South Florida at the American Arena in partnership with the Miami Heat on March 25,
2017
The national summit will be held during the Green Sports Alliance Summit in Sacramento, California, at the
Golden 1 Center June 27th, 2017. Regional Summits will be located in Southern California and Colorado. The
Student Summits are designed to empower our students with the knowledge, tools, voice, and leadership skills to
take on the roles of Student Sustainability Champions in their respective schools and communities. In order for
change to take place, it is critical to engage our young people as part of the solution. Partner with us as we inspire,
nurture and guide our students in this important work. All sponsorship funds and donations will be used to cover
all costs for the students to participate in all summits free.
Middle and high school students will develop and implement action plans incorporating two nationally recognized
sustainable planet programs to reduce energy and waste in schools and communities.
