Dear Parents,
Thank you for enrolling your son or daughter in minor basketball in affiliation with Steve Nash Youth
Basketball. As an introduction to the organization, please note the following information:
1) We now have three divisions of play:
Junior (grades 3-4, separate boys and girls)
Intermediate (grades 5-6, separate boys and girls)
Senior (grades 7-8, separate boys and girls).
Juniors will usually practice and play on Saturdays from 10:00 - 12:00
Intermediates will usually practice and play on Saturdays from 12:00 - 2:00, or 2:00 - 4:00.
The Senior division will usually practice and play on Sundays for two hours,
Please be aware that none of the days and times for any of the divisions are yet finalized.
You will be advised of the exact times once schedules are completed.
All games and practices will be at the Northern Sports Centre at UNBC
2) The first hour of each session will emphasize the skills and basic fundamentals of basketball,
and the second hour will be a game where players will have an opportunity to put those skills
to use in a game situation.
3) Each player on the team will play a minimum of half of each game.
4) Score is not kept during the game, nor are league or individual statistics kept.
5) Please be aware that the team your son or daughter is assigned to may change during the
first three weeks, as we attempt to balance the teams in the league.
6) Your first game will be on Saturday ________ or Sunday ________ depending on your
division, and the coach of your child's team will be contacting you after __________
regarding location and time.
7) Any parent or adult interested in helping the association by coaching or assisting in coaching
please call Dave or Louise Holmes (H: 964-1077), or advise the personnel at registration.
8) The league reserves the right to remove a player from a game or from the league for
behavior or sportsmanship reasons.
