FROM THE PRESIDENT
Thanks to those who attended our Annual General Meeting.
Your executive committee for 2017 are listed below – I am so
glad they have been willing to keep serving EUCMS in this way.
My thanks particularly goes to Jeni Sistrom for the many
contributions she has made to the executive and the Society as
General Secretary over the past few years.
To reiterate from my annual report presented at the meeting
and attached to your Bulletin – EUCMS is entering its 55th
year, and I want to thank all our members for being so willing
to contribute to the life of the society. 2017 is shaping up to be
another exciting and productive year, following the success of
2016. Annie Get Your Gun is well underway and there are
various other EUCMS events to plan and enjoy. And if you
missed the AGM, you will be excited to find the announcement
of our second show for the year within this Bulletin – read on!
Caroline Reddel, President
government funding cuts to community organisations such as
CCA Eastwood, it’s wonderful to know that the contributions to
CCA from EUCMS really do help to make a difference.
The big event of the evening was the nomination of Caroline
Reddel to Life Membership of EUCMS, passed unanimously, and
dare we say, vociferously (or perhaps that should be fortissimo).
A number of people took the opportunity to acknowledge
Caroline’s hard work for EUCMS, her integrity and vision and
the way she tackles the difficult issues with grace and firmness
(just to list a few of the things that were touched on).
After possibly the shortest General Business component of any
EUCMS AGM ever, we moved onto the election of office
bearers, with the results as listed below. It was a slightly
historic AGM for many members, as for the first time in many
years it we actually voted for the four floor members.

ANNIE GET YOUR GUN
AGM REPORT
It was very encouraging to see several new members at our
2017 AGM and especially a number of our Annie Get Your Gun
cast in attendance.
We started the evening with prayer, led by Janine Joannou,
representing EUC’s minister, the Rev Nicholas Fried (who was
unable to attend). Our outgoing President, Caroline Reddel,
delivered her report, summing up the year that was. Caroline’s
report is included with your bulletin.
The financial report was presented by our Treasurer, Joanne
Conolly. It’s great to see that our society is in a healthy
position financially and wonderful to see the summary of
monies EUCMS was able to donate to various charities in 2016.
Other reports were delivered by Adam Wilson (Publicity) and
Barbara Sharpham (CCA Liaison for EUCMS). In the light of recent

Gun! Three weeks in, we’re getting through our music, starting to
bring our characters to life, and generally getting to know each
other in our wonderful sci-fi/western/steam punk cast. Don’t
worry: there are still plenty of traditional moments where the
legacy of this show shines through – but we’re thrilled to be putting
our cosmic twist on it, especially given NASA’s announcement this
week (anyone up for a road trip to the 7 exoplanets?)

There will be a wide range of topics, a bit of something for
everyone. The overarching theme for the night is ANIMATION!
Feel free to get dressed up, give your table a quirky animationlinked name, or just come along to take part and see who will
win this year’s EUCMS Trivia Night.

Doors open at 7.00pm for a 7.30pm start.
Where is it?
Eastwood Uniting Church Hall
I want to attend this night of trivial entertainment, how do I
book?
Well, get some friends and/or family together and make up a
table of up to 10 people and submit a table name. You can
book a table without having 10 people. We may have to
combine tables if we get enough interest.

What will this amazing event cost me?
$10 per person for Financial Members
$15 for everyone else
Are there prizes?
Yes, there will be prizes for 1st, 2nd and 3rd place.
Can I bring food and drink?
Yes! Usual Uniting Church rules apply so no alcohol but bring
food and drink to keep your energy levels up and your brain
ticking over.
Am I allowed to use devices to help answer the questions on
the night?
No. Only the brains of your team members in the hall with you
on the night.
Spaces are limited so get in early!
2017 Fundraiser concert
We are planning to hold another concert later in the year to
showcase members' talents and raise money for a good cause.
If you are interested in organising this, or helping to organise it,

please contact Caroline Reddel ASAP. We’re sure some of you
are already thinking about items to perform, but remember,
without an organiser for the event, it may not happen. So
don't be backward in coming forward.
Cinderella photo DVD
For those wondering about the Cinderella photo DVD, this
should be available soon. Our heartfelt thanks goes to Clare
Burgess, who has put in many long hours of editing.
EUCMS name badges
Firstly, big apologies from Adam Wilson, who has yet to place
the order from last year for the EUCMS name badges. However,
he promises to do it this month as we need to order a new LIFE
MEMBER badge and it is a great opportunity for any of our
newer members to put in their order for one.
The name badges are a white badge with the EUCMS logo and
your name in black. The cost is approximately $7 per badge, but
final costing will depend on the order size.

Congratulations to Peter Bulfin, who has completed his
theological studies recently and who will graduate with an
Advanced Diploma of Theology from Christ College.

Our love and deepest sympathy to Jillian and Sandy Dunn and
family on the death of Sandy's beloved mother in Scotland.
Such a blessing that Sandy was in Scotland at the time. Our
thoughts and prayers are with you all.
