RULES
The Championship will be governed by the Racing Rules of Sailing, the prescriptions of the I.S.A. and these
Sailing Instructions (S.I.s) including any amendments thereto.

ELIGIBILITY & ENTRY FEES
The series is open to all dinghy classes.
The entry fee is €20 per boat.

SCHEDULE
Racing is scheduled for four weekends in November.
The first race will take place Sunday 6th November. Warning signal for Sunday 6th will be posted on the FYC
website.

SCORING SYSTEM:
The Low Point System of Appendix A except a boat finishing first shall score 0.75. The following amendments
will also apply: 4.4.
Eight races are scheduled. A minimum of three completed races will constitute a series.
If six races are completed there will be one discard allowed, if eight races are completed there will be two
discards allowed. If less than six races are completed there will be no discard.
A boat that did not finish, retired or was disqualified shall be scored for the finishing place one more than the
number of boats starting that race. A boat that did not start or did not come to the starting area shall be scored
points for the finishing place one more than the number of boats entered in the championship. This changes
RRS A4.2.

PRIZES
Prizes may be given in the following categories: Senior Fleet and Junior Fleet (u18).

DISCLAIMER OF LIABILITY, HONORARY MEMBERSHIP & SHIPPING NOTICE
Honorary Membership: All competitors sailing in the November Series shall be honorary members of Foynes
Yacht Club during the event, and will be bound by the rules of the club. Competitors are reminded that
personal effects, gear, trailers and other equipment are their own responsibility and neither the Race Committee,
nor Foynes Yacht Club can be held liable for any claim, loss or damage.
Responsibility: Boats are the sole responsibility of competitors, whether they are owners, tenants or Borrowers,
and they shall be liable for all damages. The decision to sail or race is solely that of the helmsman.
Commercial Shipping: Strict warning is given by Shannon Foynes Port Company that competitors must at all
times keep well clear of Tugs and commercial shipping in the area. Competitors must comply with these
warnings.

INSURANCE
Each participating boat shall be insured with valid third-party liability insurance (minimum cover of
€3,000,000) for the duration of the event.
