Application Checklist
 Completed online application via www.f6s.com/megawattventures
 Uploaded Executive Summary to online application
 Uploaded Business Model Canvas to online application
 Attached pitch video to online application (optional)
Team Requirements
 50% of formal team members must have been enrolled in a U.S. university or college within
this academic year
 Student members of the formal team must have combined minimum equity of 20% of the
company
 Teams are not required to incorporate before entering the MegaWatt Ventures
competition, but must be incorporated and have an Employer Identification Number (EIN)
prior to receiving the $50,000 grand prize
 A team cannot have raised more than $200,000 in equity funding prior to selection of the
MegaWatt Ventures competition winner
 Formal team members may be citizens of foreign countries, but at least one U.S. citizen
must be a formal team member
 The submitted technical innovation must fall within one or a combination of the following
technology categories:
o Advanced manufacturing
o Biomass
o Building technologies
o Federal energy management
o Vehicle technologies
o Geothermal technologies
o Hydrogen, fuel cells and infrastructure technologies
o Solar energy technologies
o Weatherization and intergovernmental
o Wind technologies
o Water power
