Advanced Students
Part A: Done as a group with all advanced students (1/2 day)
As a group you will plan an event which will include:

Six recipes from six different countries.
All six recipes need to work together so they could all be served at one meal.
Each recipe cannot exceed $25.00 for both groups to cook with all the ingredients.
Remember you have to prep and cook the recipe in one period.
Each person can pick one recipe if you like or you can pick them as a group, just ensure
everyone has an equal say.
The recipes must include:

2 Appetizers
2 Main Courses (1 meat and 1 vegetarian or seafood)
1 Dessert
Sides (anything that would be included in the meal not on the above list…bread, beverages, etc.)
Part B: Each group member chooses a recipe from the above list and types it out. All
the group members will then create a master shopping list to be ordered for all the
recipes. ( if you miss something on the list you will have to adjust your recipe or bring it
from home as we are not making trips to the store…we still love you. )
Each team member picks one item from the menu and types out the recipe. All the recipes must be formatted
the same and must include: (ask your teacher to show you an example)

Nutritional value of the food in their culture
Some history of the country; example tradition, weather, technology available, celebrations,
religious beliefs.
Combine all 6 recipes and give to your teacher along with a master shopping list of all ingredients
and quantities to be ordered. (This should be 7 typed pages: 1 shopping list and 6 recipes)
The shopping list should include:

Ingredients and quantities which the teacher needs order - if you miss an item…you adjust your
recipe or take the missing item from home as the teacher will not be placing a second order or
running to the store the night before.
Items which are currently in the lab which you do not believe need to be ordered. (IE Flour,
sugar, salt, etc.).
Both A and B are to be completed and handed into your teacher at the end of day
Part C: To be done individually (2-3 days)
