“Let’s Get Red” on 8.12 “Red Décor Day”
The Hong Kong Red Cross “Humanitarian X Red in Office”

(Hong Kong 18 July 2011) The 3rd Red Décor Day organized by the Hong Kong Red Cross will be
held on 12 August 2011 (Friday) this year with the theme of Humanitarian x Red in Office! It is to
commemorate the Four Geneva Conventions adopted on 12 August 1949, which conferred
neutrality to Red Cross in delivering humanitarian services around the world. Staff of all participating
corporations and associations are welcome to join this Campaign.
This Campaign was first held in 2009 and warmly welcomed by many corporations over the past
two years. Similar to previous years, participants are encouraged to join us with a donation of
HK$30 or above and dress in red with our Campaign stickers on. And then partake in the Campaign
Photo Competition on our Facebook Fan Page by taking the “red photo” with colleagues and friends
on 12 August. To win the competition, participants can call their friends to vote for their entries on
the Facebook Fan Page. New elements are injected into this year Campaign to drum up the power
of red, details are as follows:
New Element 1: Invite friends to Join Red Décor Day 2011
Participants can invite their friends beyond office to
join this Campaign, with an additional donation of
HK$ 20 or above for each additional participant.
Participating friends are entitled to a pair of
Campaign stickers.
New Element 2: Get a Limited Edition Red Décor Day 2011 Commemorative Badge
On 12 August, Red Décor Day participants have a
chance to get a limited edition Commemorative
Badge by registering on the Campaign website.
Badges are distributed on a first-come, first-served
basis, while stock lasts!
New Element 3: Win a Prize via "Know More about the Conventions" Online Quiz
In order to increase the public awareness of the
Four Geneva Conventions, starting from 18 July,
"Know More about the Conventions" Online Quiz
will be launched on the Campaign website for the
following four consecutive weeks. The first 10
participants of each week (starting from Monday)
getting the correct answer are entitled to a limited
edition Commemorative Badge. Both the public and
Campaign participants are welcome to join!

Alongside with the new elements, the Campaign Photo Competition is continued! Fabulous prizes
including Coca-Cola Bike and OTO Power Tap are awaiting for the participants. Special thanks to
the advertising firm Draftfcb and Hong Kong Press Photographers Association for being the
Competition Advisors and Judging Panel.

Staff from participating corporations and associations are encouraged to join the
Campaign by donating HK$30 or above. Participants will receive a pair of
Campaign stickers given by the HKRC.

Participants can dress in red or put on red accessories with the Campaign
stickers on.
Participants can capture the red photo of himself, his colleagues and friends
and then upload the masterpiece entries to the Campaign Facebook Fan
Page for the Humanitarian x Red Photo Competition.
Photo Competition participants can call friends to vote for their entries via
Campaign Facebook Fan Page and win the “Favorite Photo on Facebook” Award.
