Concessions Intern - Evansville, IN
DESCRIPTION:
The Evansville Otters have full-time internships available for the 2016 season. The internship positions are summer
positions that start the first of May and run through the conclusion of the season (end of August or early September).
Applicants who are in their senior year of college will be given preference for internship positions. The Evansville Otters
play in the 14-team independent Frontier League and our league’s senior member. Playing at historic Bosse Field where
every night is Opening Night, interns have a chance to operate in one of America’s last remaining true baseball cathedrals.
Built in 1915, Bosse Field has been home to many teams, and many hall of famers played baseball at one time or another
in Evansville. Bosse Field is one of three stadiums to be used in the filming “A League of Their Own”. If you are looking
to get that foot in the door of sports, there is no better place to start than with the Evansville Otters!
EXPECTATIONS: The Evansville Otters expect interns to consider themselves a part of our full time staff. All
employees are expected to work all home games including night, weekend and holiday dates. Candidates are required to
be enthusiastic with a great desire to put on a night of entertainment and memories for all fans at historic Bosse Field.
Within minor league baseball, the front office staff performs duties at all levels of management and maintenance. From
time to time, staff members will be required to help sell tickets, work in our concessions operations, interact with players
and coaches, help clean the stadium, pull the tarp over the infield and other tasks, in addition to their primary duties.
Everyone working in professional minor league baseball wears many “hats”, so a willingness to go above and beyond
one’s normal duties is expected. The Otters offer the opportunity to learn the business of baseball from the ground up.
Many past interns who have planned to continue a career in professional sports have been given that opportunity to
continue either with the Evansville Otters or with other professional sports teams.
