GPA and CLASS RANKING Class rank and grade point average are determined by the levels of courses taken and the grades earned in those courses. Grades earned in courses completed in middle school that were awarded a high school credit will not be computed as part of the high school cumulative GPA. High school courses completed during the summer before entering ninth grade will be included in the GPA. Students are ranked numerically in ascending order, according to GPA, at the end of the junior year and at the end of first semester of the senior year. Students who are earning either a Standard or an Advanced Studies diploma are included in class rank. Beginning with the class of 2017, total grade points include an additional 0.5 quality point for any Honors course and a 1.0 quality point for any AP/dual enrollment course taken.
