Knowledge of computerised payroll systems,
preferably Sage Payroll
Thorough knowledge of HMRC requirements with
regard to tax, national insurance, and statutory
deductions and payments
Experience of operation of the payroll function
Experience of dealing with pension schemes

Experience of other benefit schemes, e.g.
childcare vouchers






Office skills (Excel and Word)
Strong IT and mathematical skills
Problem solving abilities and logical thinking
Good time management skills
Ability to work to deadlines
Excellent attention to detail and ability to
understand and apply complex information.
Requirement to utilise effective written and
verbal communication skills to support
engagement with individuals and key people
Requirement to understand and use diplomacy to
resolve any issues/create well-balanced working
environment
Requirement to build and establish effective
relationships with line managers, colleagues and
other key individuals

Essential Competency
Must establish and utilise effective team building

Ability to assume individual responsibility and

AAT qualified or holder of an IPP certificate in
payroll administration or equivalent business,
payroll or book-keeping qualification.
5 GCSE passes or equivalent including Maths and
English.

planning and provide useful input into the
execution of plans
Must assume responsibility to be the point of
contact for others
