SENIOR PRODUCT MANAGER-ASIA POSITION OVERVIEW Responsible for strategically planning and managing new category development for PMI’s private label business in Asia Pacific region. This position will manage the development, selection and utilization of products to meet customer and consumer needs and stage product offerings to maximize revenue and profit. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS Annually/seasonally present and discuss with client pre-season market trend overview and propose category direction for the season. - Seasonally prepare and provide design direction to product development. - Provide detailed comments and direction based on client feedback. - Request market research analysis. - Seasonally manage and merchandise: o Addition of new products o Derivations of existing product o Adaptations/new uses of existing products o Elimination of low selling or un-profitable product Annually and seasonally work with business analyst to prepare category analysis to identify product segments that will provide PMI with the greatest opportunity for growth. Provide a ‘category point of view’ that will provide profitable, unique and when appropriate, patented opportunities for the company. Trends – Become educated on and understand emerging macro and category trends. Meet with clients prior to seasonal kick off to probe and understand new business initiatives Competition – Understand competitor’s product, brand positioning, price, promotions, channels of distribution, strengths and weaknesses. Consumer Market Research - Synthesize market research findings to gain consumer insights into new market segments or product categories Sell Through analysis – Compile and analyze customer sell through information. Understand internal and external factors that impact selling. PROFICIENCIES 1. Excellent written and oral communication skills; ability to communicate effectively and project a professional image when giving and taking information in writing, in person and over the phone. 2. Outstanding presentation skills 3. Solid word processing and computer database skills with knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint & etc. 4. Good personal skills with the ability to effectively work with individuals and groups at all organization levels; ability to work independently and as part of a team. 5. Ability to respond effectively to sensitive inquiries or complaints. 6. Ability to take initiative and prioritize tasks; good time-management, organizational, problem-prevention and problem-solving skills. 7. Strong analytical ability with active listening skills. 8. Ability to work accurately with close attention to detail. 9. Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information. 10. Willingness to adapt to changing business needs and deadlines. 11.
