Baseball meeting is Saturday, April 6, @ 9:30AM at the Rookies Food & Spirts,
10267 HWY 14, Mazomanie, WI. 53560 with lunch at Noon paid by Babe Ruth
Baseball. It is mandatory that all Baseball Commissioners attend as well as all 2013
State Tournament Organization Directors or their representatives to finalize exact state
tournament dates. Any League Presidents or their representative are welcome to attend
but not mandatory. Communities that have inquired about the program over the
years and have not yet joined are welcome to attend and see what Babe Ruth
Baseball is all about in this state.

Tentative dates. What do State Tournament Directors prefer for their facility?
b. Should we buy Baseballs and Trophies from Babe Ruth for State Tournaments?
c. State Tournament Plaques Distribution & Flags.
10. Pairings will be determined by Tournament Directors with my help if needed.
a. Discussion & Decision on how pairings to be made plus NO TEAM will be
eliminated the first day.
11. Misc.
a. Discussion (8 yr old Invitational is coach/Pitch & Machine Pitch.) We had NO 8
yr old teams from the state last year. We need teams to participate this year.
b. Cal Ripken Leagues can enter a 46’-60’ & a 50’-70’ tournament team for the 11 yr
old & 12 yr old no matter if you chartered as a 60’ or 70’ league. It gives more
players & Parents in your league the opportunity to experience tournament
baseball.
c. Misc. Discussion about anything not listed on the Agenda such as donation for
new National Office.
12. 2013 New Rules
a.
Baseball, Cal Ripken Baseball and Babe Ruth Softball, all umpires are required to be a Babe Ruth
League, Inc. National Umpire Association member to work district, state, regional and World Series.
b.
Cal Ripken Baseball Division (only) - a team may elect to add a tenth hitter to the batting order for
district, state and regional tournament competition as well as the Cal Ripken 10-Year-Old World
Series, Cal Ripken Major 60 World Series and Cal Ripken Major 70 World Series. Prior to the
beginning of the game, this player will be indicated in the line-up as the "EH". The "EH" will be
treated as any other starter, and cannot be eliminated during the course of the game. NOTE: If a
team's line up starts with 10 players, the team must finish with 10 players. Penalty shall be a
forfeit.
