SPORTS RESULTS
Hockey
This week, the Pukete Squirrels
played the Te Totara Cheetahs
going down 1-6. The score
however, did not reflect the high
paced
intensity
of
the
game. There was some great
team work and our defence was
outstanding - the score could have been a whole lot worse! Mea
scored our only goal and shut down several opposition goal
attempts. Kelsey had a beautiful game, she really got stuck in
there, attacked, defended and never gave up. Our awesome
player of the day was Samuel who played an absolute
blinder! Every aspect of your game was amazing. Well done
Squirrels, you really put your heart and soul into this game!
Room 14 – Layla – Responsibility
Being a respectful and responsible class member. You always try
your best in all class work. You are also making great progress in
writing. Well done!
Room 15 – Iharaia – Joyfulness
Bringing a fantastic attitude into class every day. You often have a
nice story to share with the teacher and a cheerful smile for the
whole class in the morning. You are quick to bounce back from
any setbacks and give your best effort to your work. It’s great to
have someone so joyful and positive in our room.
Room 16 – Ruby – Creativity
Using powerful vocabulary and imaginative ideas in your writing.
Well done Ruby this makes your writing exciting to read. Keep it
up – you are a star.
Room 17 – Unity
For consistently using Pukete School virtues, taking up challenges
and doing our best by working together and supporting each other.
You make Room 17 an amazing place to be.
Room 18 – Seth – Responsibility
Making great choices all week to listen to the teacher and focus on
his learning. Well done for being a responsible member of our
class. Keep up the fantastic work!
Room 20 – Rylee – Responsibility
Trying extra hard to get your work done in time. Your effort has
really paid off and it shows in everything you do. Thanks for being
such an amazing student in Room 20!
Room 21 – Allen – Courtesy
Always using nice manners in the classroom with adults and other
children. Ka pai!

Pukete Seals played Knighton Storm last Saturday and won 91. Our goals were scored by Gurkirat (1) Macey (1) George (1)
Flynn (1) Hannah (4) and the other team scored an own goal off
their players foot. Everyone in our team played exceptionally well
and it was an exciting game to watch. Lots of players stood out
with the different things they did during the game, however none of
the parents could decide who should get player of the day. In the
end Coach decided the whole team deserved player of the
day. Well done team you all thoroughly deserved it. Also a big
thank you to Hannah’s sister Kaitlyn who referees our game every
week and to our wonderful supporters who always cheer us on!
Pukete Smurfs played Te Totara Shooters. Goals were scored by
Ryan (2) Breanna (1). The goals were a team effort and it’s great
to see some thought going into the game. There was super
defence from the backs, Mason, McKenna and Lily worked hard to
keep the other team from scoring. The Mids and strikers took a lot
more control of the game by forcing the ball out to the waiting
wings, then racing to the top of the circle to receive the ball again.
Player of the day went to Emma for her great positioning and
keeping her chin up and playing a great game despite having an
unsettled week with some sad news. Your Gran would have been
very proud! Smurf of the Day was the Parents choice this week
and it was given to McKenna. McKenna has some great ball skills,
she just needs to back herself with the belief she has the ability to
win the ball every time and fight for it!
Only 4 more games to go!!
