McEachern Players in the NFL

McEACHERN INDIANS
In the
Most players who put on the uniform at some time dream about being
able to play in the NFL. In our 55 year football history, McEachern has
had four individuals who have been able to realize that dream.
Adam Meadows played for McEachern High School from
1988 to 1992. He received a scholarship to the University
of Georgia and in 1993 was drafted to the Indianapolis
Colts in the 2nd round as the 48th pick. From 1997 to
2003 he played for the Colts and in 2006 joined the Denver Broncos. As a ninth year tackle with 102 career starts
(inc. postseason who joined the Broncos curing their 2006 training camp
after spending the 2004 and 2005 seasons out of football. Adam spend his
first seven professional seasons (1997 to 2003
with Indianapolis and competed in Carolina’s 2004 training camp before he was
placed on the reserve/retired list on Aug. 10,
2004. He started three games
for the Broncos at right tackle
midway through the 2006 season.
Gerald McRath played for McEachern High
School from 2001 to 2004. He received a
scholarship to Southern Mississippi in 2005
and was drafted to the Tennessee Titans in the
4th round as the 130th pick. Gerald is just at
the outset of his NFL career and McEachern
wishes him continuas success. McRath was a
team captain at McEachern High School. He recorded 85 total tackles as
a senior, with visits to East Carolina, Auburn and BYU before decising
on Southern Miss. After redshirting in 2004, McRath was limited to two
games of action in 2005 before suffering a knee injury against McNeese
State. He was granted a medical redshirt year for the 2005 season.
McRath recovered from his knee injury to become a regular starter over
the next three seasons for Southern Miss. He was a third team AllConference USA selection in 2006, finishing with a team-high 104 total
tackles. McRath earned first team All-Conference USA selections in each
fo his next two seasons and was the Conference USA Defensive Player of
the Year as a sophomore. McRath finished his career with 386 total tackles. He joined the Tennessee Titans in 2009 where he remained for the
next three seasons. In 2011, he played in 12 games logging in 15 total
tackles. In 2010 he would appear in 12
games with 60 tackles and 1.5 sacks. In
2009, he would appear in 16 games with 5
starts, 38 tackles and 1 interception. Gerald
suffered an injury against Carolina and is
currently attempting to make a return to the
NFL.
Rory Anderson played for McEachern High School
from 2008 to 2010. He received a scholarship to
South Carolina in 2011 and was drafted to the San
Francisco 49ers in the 7th round as the 254th pick.
He was released from the 49ers and acquired as a
practice squad player for the Chicago Bears in 2016.
His senior highlights include the following: 2014: A
Mackey Award Watch List candidate who totaled 22 catches for 260
yards and a TD over 10 games in a senior season that was hampered by a
series of triceps injuries...hauled in a career-high five receptions for 67
yards, including an 18-yard touchdown against Georgia... tied a career
high in receptions with five versus Missouri... caught one reception for 24
against Furman before leaving game with a left triceps strain... missed
games versus Auburn and Tennessee... returned at Florida, making two
catches for 27 yards... suffered a torn triceps at Clemson and missed the
Independence Bowl after undergoing surgery... caught 61 passes for 954
yards and nine scores in his 48-game career which included 19 starts. As
a junior, "Busta" played in 12 of 13
games, starting nine, caught 17 passes
for 235 yards, an average of 13.8 yards
per catch... did not find the end zone in
2013 after logging eight scores in his
first two campaigns... caught a pair of
passes for 34 yards in the win at UCF...
caught three passes for 38 yards in the
win at Missouri... caught three passes
for a game-high 69 yards against Florida... caught passes in nine straight contests before being shutout over the final
three games... shared "Most Improved"
tight end honors during the spring with
Jerell Adams. Currently Rory Anderson has played a role in the 49er’s preseason and remains on the roster as an
injured reserved member.
Kofi Amichia was drafted by the Green Bay Packers in the 6th round and played at McEachern from
2009 to 2011. In 2012 he signed a scholarship to the
University of South Florida. He earned American
Athletic Conference First-Team selection, started
all 13 games and 26 career starts. helped the set
school records with 77 touchdowns, 47 rushing
touchdowns (second in the FBS), 3,714 rushing
yards and 6,650 yards of total offense, while ranking in the top 20 in the nation in sacks allowed
(1.15)…helped the Bulls extend their nation-leading
streak of 30-plus point games to 17… paved the way for USF to finish the
regular season ranked fifth nationally in rushing offense (291.8 ypg),
eighth in scoring offense (43.6 ppg) and ninth in total offense (515.1 ypg).
Blocked for first-team all-conference back Marlon Mack who led The
American in rushing and set a new USF season record with 1,381 yards.
MCEACHERN HIGH SCHOOL: a three-year letterman and all-state
performer ... led McEachern to a 30-5 record and two region titles during
his three seasons ... earned a spot in the all-state all-star game as a senior ... a first-team all-county selection ... posted 88 career pancake
blocks ... also spent time on defense and recorded a sack ... Twice helped
McEachern to a 10-2 record and the second round of the state playoffs ...
tabbed a preseason all-state selection ... named one of the top players in
Georgia by ESPN High School ... allowed only one sack, while starting
all 12 games ...invited to
Nike's The Opening ...
also lettered in track and
field and basketball.
