GAME MAKER CREATING A ROOM 1. Right-click on the Rooms folder and Create Room: 2. In the objects tab of the room properties window, select obj_wall. Create the walls on the grid by holding the shift key and left mouse click. To delete a wall, right-click and delete it: 3. Create more walls so your character have somewhere to hide from the enemies(you may place the walls anywhere you want on the grid): 4. Add the character in your room: 5. Add the coins for the character to get and the enemies to guard the coins: 6. Click on the green check sign to save your room. Then test out your game by clicking the Run the game icon: CREATING SOUNDS FOR THE GAME 1. Let’s spice up the game by adding some sounds. Go to soundfxnow.com and download 2 types of sounds: a background music and a sound fx for when the character gets the coin. 2. Right-click on the Sounds folder and Create Sound. Name the sound bg_music(this will be for your background music). Locate the music that you want by clicking on Load Sound. Then click OK: 3. Create another sound and this time for the coin. 4. Right-click on the Objects folder and create object. Name this obj_bgmusic. Click Add Event>Create. Drag Play sound icon to the Actions box. Set sound to bg_music. Click OK: 5. Now you are going to add that obj_bgmusic you have just created in your room. Double click your room to go to your Room Properties window. Click on the gray space on the left, select obj_bgmusic and add that to your room: 6. Save the changes you made in the Room. Then test if the sound is working by clicking on Run The Game icon. 7. When the character touches the coin, you will want to hear a sound effect. To do this, go to your coin object and add Play sound to your Actions box: 8. Test the game by clicking on Run The Game icon. 9. Create an executable file for your game(Make sure you know where you are saving it) : 10.
