In this role, the Underwriter is responsible for assisting the agents and the third-party administrator in underwriting new
business, reviewing endorsements and policy changes/cancellation requests, inspections. Also, completes the company’s
inspection program of the assumption books of business and claims re-inspection program.
Qualifications:
• College Degree
• Minimum 3 years to 5 years of experience within a P&C Insurance Carrier or Wholesale operation
• Computer literate, knowledge of Windows, Excel and working with rating engines utilized in the Underwriting process
• Possess good research and writing skills
• General lines certification or CPCU a plus
Primary responsibilities will include:
• Assist the third-party administrator and agents in underwriting new business in accordance with the company underwriting
and service standards
• Assist the third-party administrator and agents in processing all endorsements, including cancellations and reinstatements in
accordance with the company service standards
• Review inspections and recommendations received from inspectors Loss Control
• Review policies for renewal in accordance with the company underwriting and service standards
• Act as liaison with other departments and producers
• Assist Underwriting Manager in identifying any issues pertaining to producers and the third-party administrator
• Other responsibilities as assigned by Underwriting Manager
Other tasks that will be required:
• Any other duties assigned by the company from time-to-time
