2014 7U Vipers Baseball Team
• Coach – Dean Barke
 Member of South Oldham Little League Board of Directors.
 Played high school baseball in Louisville.
 Passionate about teaching baseball to young children.
• Mission & Objective of Team
 Create an opportunity for our local children to have FUN and develop a life long
enjoyment for the game of baseball.
 Provide baseball instruction that builds upon the teachings of the basic fundamentals
learned in a Little League structure.
 Develop an avenue for skilled young players interested in the game to experience
competition at a level higher than recreational baseball.
 Field a team that is well prepared and competitive in all games.
• Formation of Team
 Team is open for any child 7 years old that lives in the surrounding area (Jefferson,
Oldham, Shelby & Southern Indiana).

Birth date between May 1, 2006 – April 30, 2007.
 Tryouts to be held in late Summer for Fall games or instructional sessions.

• Practices
 Begin in mid February and will take place once per week.
 1,500 square foot indoor practice facility located at 1310 North English Station Road
in Middletown.
2014 7U Vipers Baseball Team
• Estimated Games - Approximately 40 games
 Little League Games (17-20 games, including All Stars).
 Metro Louisville 7U League (10 games).

Compete against Oldham County Scorpions, Louisville Sting, J-Town Strike, East Louisville
Bats (among others).
 Tournaments (3 tournaments, likely J-Town, Middletown and Elizabethtown).


2 seeding games on Saturday.
Single elimination on Sunday.
• Estimated Costs - $300 / Player*
 Costs to include the following:




Support indoor practice facility.
Uniforms.
Tournaments & Metro Louisville league games.
Vipers fee & insurance costs.


* Will work to obtain fund raising and sponsorship options to minimize cost further.
