WAYMAKER campaign PURPOSE: To focus on increasing our employee engagement with residents, families, and colleagues through daily initiatives strategized by HR and supported by management. Increase recognition of those staff members that make a positive impact on our facility. Make a substantial difference in the experience of the residents, families and colleagues in our facility, as well as make a difference in the personal lives of some of our employees to further enhance their value within the facility. Willing Advocate Yes! Meaningful Attentive Kind Engaging Respect PROCEDURE: Each month, facility focuses on one aspect of the WAYMAKER campaign. In both the entry of CV and MOH, professional looking stands with comment cards will be available for residents, visitors, and colleagues to write comment cards anonymously about their experience at Mount Olivet Homes. These 4x6 cards will be used to promote and recognize the staff that are making an impact on those that they encounter in our facility. Any negative comments can be investigated and corrected as well. Use a wall area to display these comment cards so that staff can be encouraged by the comments left. Keep the wall ‘fresh’ with new comment cards and promote some of the comments online through email, Schedule360.com, Facebook, and Twitter. Each month will be a drawing of $25 for three people that have been mentioned during the month. Each month focus on a word of the campaign. Provide daily inspirational or educational information via email, Schedule360, Facebook, and Twitter to employees to remember to focus on the word of the month. Promote the feeling, the word, and the action. Continually remind what it means, and how to implement it. REASON FOR CAMPAIGN: We have some amazing employees and the last employee survey showed that the majority do not feel that we provide enough recognition. Employees should embrace each message through the campaign and realize the impact they can have within the facility. As a facility, we do not always provide meaningful experiences to residents, and we lack on engaging the residents and families in our encounters with them on a consistent basis with every employee. Waymaker Ambassadors will be first hand promoters of going above and beyond in each step of the campaign to fellow employees. We can be the care provider of choice, as well as the employer of choice by continually pushing that good enough is never good enough! Show visitors and residents that we are concerned about promoting their positive experiences and engaging our employees to take our service to the next level! PROMOTE: Use name badge holders with the hearts on them to promote the campaign and be a daily reminder to employees of what we expect. Give out wrist bands with ‘I am your WAYMAKER’ to all employees as a daily reminder that we are all her to make the way for those in need. Keep the WAYMAKER wall updated with recent comments. Encourage residents and families to use the comment cards through care conferences. Have Waymaker Ambassadors that remind their colleagues about the program, the word of the month, and lead holding one another accountable in a kind and caring manner. Daily communication driven by HR to continually enforce campaign messaging. MEASURE: Comments during the campaign from residents, visitors, and employees to measure impact. Make any adjustments during campaign as necessary to maximize impact. At the end of the campaign complete a survey to see if there was a positive impact made on the employees based on recognition, career approach, home life, and attitude.
