About Firm Foundations
Firm Foundations is a repeating 5 year
discipleship course offered by Mount Hermon
Missionary Baptist Church for Christians of all
ages. The class meets on most Wednesday
nights at 7pm. The course seeks to equip
believers by providing comprehensive and
systematic instruction on all of the major
doctrines of the Bible.
The course is seminar based and requires no
outside reading or work. A bird’s eye view of
the subjects covered can be found on the back
of this brochure. The subjects covered this
year (2012-2013) can be found on the flap.
Believers are encouraged to jump into the
program even if they have already missed past
classes – those classes will eventually come
around again. There is no cost for the course.
Do not be conformed to this
world, but be transformed by
the renewal of your mind, that
by testing you may discern what
is the will of God, what is good
and acceptable and perfect.

Our Theological Convictions
We are Christians – we believe that Jesus
Christ is the Son of God, the ruler of the
universe, and a Savior for sinners. Everything
that exists and all that takes place does do for
the glory of Jesus.
We are Evangelicals – we believe that the Bible
is the Word of God and that it has authority
over our lives. We believe that the central
message of the Bible is the gospel – the
message of how sinners can have peace with
God through Jesus.
We are Calvinists – we believe that salvation is
all of grace and that the glory belongs
completely to God.
We are Baptists – we believe that local
churches are to be made up of genuine
believers who have been born again by the
Spirit of God and who have publicly professed
their faith through a conscious participation in
the ordinance of baptism.
We hold to the 5 Solas of the Protestant
Reformation:
Sola Scriptura – Scripture Alone
Justin Nale has served as
Pastor of MHMBC since
2003. He and his wife
Crystal have two sons.
Sola Christos – Christ Alone
Sola Gratia – Grace Alone
Sola Fide – Faith Alone
Soli Deo Gloria! – Glory to God Alone!
