Background (1981/82)

In 1981 4 major groups working within the Port of
Hamburg (Forwarder, Liner Agent, Tally and Quay
Operator) agreed upon the following:

Efficient organization of transportion needs early information
o
information exchange using EDI




o
avoids double typing,
avoids errors due to double typing
saves time and
saves money
Flow of information within the Harbour was
too slow and too expensive

one of the shareholders and has to pay to
them for the usage of the EDI-Network of
DAKOSY
Additional services of DAKOSY (EDI, ASP
and IT- Services) are charged by
DAKOSY directly
