A new committee has been formed to
provide structure and assistance for the
cricketing members and already the
formation of that committee is starting to bear
fruit. It is a very difficult and time consuming
process selecting a professional and
following many late nights LCC can proudly
announce Pakistan International Rameez
Raja Jr will be (hopefully) landing some in the
Lune this season. Rameez looks a very
exciting prospect and you can view his stats
on cricinfo.com and view his big bashing on
youtube. The committee feels a enormous
sense of gratitude to Mr John Sanderson of
LPNM for his continued support as our main
sponsor. Further partnerships have been
developed with Squires Snooker and Pool
Hall, 3-1-5 and The Sultan of Lancaster . For
more details regarding the benefits of those
partnerships for members, please ask a
member of the committee.
Since
1841
A very special thank you to Audrey Ellis from
the committee and all the members – many
thanks Audrey.
Those partnership efforts will directly benefit
the playing members as the funds generated
will be used to pay a groundsman . . . . maybe
that doesn’t sound a big deal but he will be
the first employed groundsman in many, many
years and along with the generous (and free)
assistance of our ground committee the
playing surface should show signs of
improvement realtively quickly.
There has also been a tremendous amount of
work done on behalf of the juniors and junior
section of the club, which was highlighted by
the great attendance at the first indoor net
session, fantastic to see, they are our future
and if that is a sign then the future is bright.
New kit is being designed at going to press
that will see synergy throughout the club, from
the smaller junior teams right through to the
senior players there will be one design for all,
enforcing the belief in the structure – ONE
CLUB!
More to report and more to do, but that’ll be in
next month’s newsletter – LCC committee.
