Campus Clean- Up
Matt: Generally it’s done before open house, but the snow has been crazy. Right now
we’re setting it up, it’ll be a Wednesday in late April. If you want to help volunteer, you
can do so through us. Also if you’re part of any club or organization that needs
volunteer hours, this is a great way to do it and it makes our campus look beautiful.
Bliss: What day?
Matt: Not sure yet, we will let you know. Keep looking out for it!
Cell Service
Matt: I’m going to take a quick poll about cell service. They’re doing a survey so they
can possibly increase service on campus.

Elections!
Steven: PR is responsible for publicizing events and organization. I get them stamped by
SAUS (Student Activities Union Services) and I hang them up all over campus. I’m also
responsible for making all certificates and awards. I make facebook events and thank
you notes if needed. I’m also in charge of the print quote for each hall as well as the
display case in Has.
Sam: I’m VP of Esopus running for PR. Back then I thought I lost the election, but I had
won something. After the election a lot of people asked me to do something else and I
originally said no and I’ll try another way to get involved in RHSA. But then I realized
this is a community I want to be a part of who wants me to get involved. I read the
constitution, looked at PR duties and knew I could do PR. I want to be a leader, to be a
part of RHSA because it is a family and I’m not turning my back on this family.
Bliss: Move to open question/answer
Deyo: second
Bliss: What do PR duties include?
Sam: Make flyers, maintain display case in Has, maintain print quota for each hall gov,
have a relationship with SAUS to get flyers stamped. I’d work closely with the print
shop to get things printed out. I also have to maintain communications with campus
offices and other organizations to report back to AC.
Tim: There are a few other positions you could have run for, why PR?
Sam: PR is a really good spot for me because although I’m not the most artistic I can use
photoshop and all that. I’m like a dog like I said last time because I’m so outgoing and
open. You have to make connections and I can do that.
Lenape: Do you have any art or design background?
Sam: I do not but I know a lot of computer skills. I also have eyes and can see things.
Steph: Who did you speak to about this position?
Sam: I talked to you and Steven
Bouton: Have you ever made a poster, what did it look like?
Sam: I made a poster for hall gov which was hand done, but I did posters for other
clubs that were well done.
Tim: Have you been to the print shop, know the people?
Sam: I know it’s in the basement of Haggerty, they are Jim and Jeff also known as J
squared.
Bouton: Describe your time management.
Sam: They are really good, I have a white board which lists everything I need to do.
There are mean girls quotes on it…. I would also only be doing PR with 15 credits
which is not bad.
Steph: So Hurricane Irene happens again and the print shop is out of service, what do
you do?
Sam: I do have a printer in my room, there is one in Has and there is also one in the
RHSA office
Deyo: move to extend by 5 minutes
Collango: second
Bliss: What do you do if you make a typo on a poster?
Sam: I would obviously try to avoid it by having my peers check it. But I would have to
run to take them down, fix the typo and change it.
Deyo: How would you incorporate social media into your duties?
Sam: I could work with the radio station, the newspaper. Also, Facebook is really good.
Flyers work well but may not always be the best, I could always make videos on
facebook and have people share. I can also talk to the CCC and try to work something
out where people can get GFPs by sharing/making event.
Bevier: You need to be able to make designs and whatnot, for an event, what if someone
on the eboard has a cool design and wants it on the flyer?
Sam: Yeah why not? If the general consensus is to use it I would definitely do so.
Gage: On your app, you plan to make new and fun programs. Any in mind?
Sam: Maybe more seasonal programs, like a picnic on the Quad, but I do have time to
think of many more.
Bouton: You said you know how to work photoshop, do you have it on your computer?
Sam: I do not, but I know its on the RHSA office. If I really needed to, I do have amazon
prime and could get it.
Bouton: You can also use CSB mac lab
Sam: Thank you!
Jarred: Describe or tell us how many hours you think PR would take
Sam: It honestly depends on the amount of programs, meetings you have that week. The
longest could be 20 hours. Also PR, I would have to hang things up around campus
which would take longer.
Jarred: How would you manage it with your school work?
Sam: Obviously grades come first, but I would be able to manage it all perfectly.
Bliss: Are you creative?
Sam: Yes. I’m into making designs when I’m drawing. It honestly depends on the
situation
Deyo: move to extend by 5 minutes
Gage: second
Scudder: If you were to describe yourself in three words, what are they and why?
Sam: Outgoing, I love meeting people. Happy, I’m an optimist. Caring, honestly I care
about people.
Esopus: How would you plan to reach out to new students on the campus?
Sam: I know that Tara Sestanovich makes emails and I would contact her to get RHSA
things posted. Also I will probably still live in Esopus which has many new students.
Finally making connections with other clubs.
Bevier: How would you use your skills as VP if elected as PR?
Sam: I have good team work skills, I’m also good at volunteering to do things that not
everyone wants to do. Some of it is just instinct.
Lenape: Have you ever taken an art class?
Sam: Yes
Steph: RHSA is having an ice cream social, do you have a catchphrase?
Sam: Classic would be I scream, you scream, we all scream for ice cream. ICE CREAM
for RHSA
Bevier: Say photoshop doesn’t work, how would you make the flyers?
Sam: There are so many like Ink scape, Word as a last resort.
DuBois: What do you think you could bring to RHSA and PR?
Sam: I think my energy and outgoingness, I may seem nice and fluffy, I do have a
strong work ethic. When it comes down to business I am on it.
Bevier: Another Eboard member is slacking, would you assist them? How would you go
about it?
Sam: I am always looking to help fellow eboard members, you have to look out for your
team.
Deyo: move to extend by 5 minutes
Scudder: second
Bliss: How would you get the flyers up?
Sam: I would put them in folders, offer GFPs for it.
Bouton: move to close question/answer

-I really like him. I think he is really passionate and willing to adapt and learn from the
experiences
-He truly shows teamwork abilities which are a really good thing. With him, he’s
positive, enthusiastic, he wants it, is willing to help out. He is really someone you’d
want on the eboard
-He seems to be computer savvy. Who doesn’t want to work with a human puppy as he
described himself?
-The fact that he ran before and didn’t get it but tried again shows a lot about him and
his passion for RHSA
-He’s fun and outgoing but knows when to be professional.
Bliss: move to end discussion (we all love him)

Tim: I’m just thinking about the stairs going to the SUB and on the side of Capen, they
are all pretty dangerous.
Bliss: Coykendall Death door is still a thing
Bevier: When are the stairs for the SUB going to be fixed?
Matt: I don’t know but I will check
Scudder: Where does the printer paper for the residence halls come from?
Matt: I believe that is either from the print shop or help desk. Talk to your RAs/RD
about it.
Bouton: Over spring break, it rained and they are using wood to repair the stairs so I
have a feeling the rain probably warped it and messed with it.
Open Floor 10:12PM
Steph: Hallywood Staff sheets by next meeting and upload to Facebook by Wednesday!
