Andrew has worked as a Sales Agent in the same Real Estate Agency for nearly five years.
We asked Andrew to share his views on REDlinx.
How did you become involved with REDlinx?
My Principal introduced REDlinx to the team at a staff meeting after he had signed the Agency up to a
REDlinx membership.
What was life like for you before REDlinx?
Having been a Sales Agent for about five years, I just did my own thing in the office and rode the waves
of market fluctuations and got by. There were some tough times when listings were scarce or sales were
hard to achieve and I felt disheartened. I tried to keep motivated and up to date with what else I could try
to help me hit my goals. This was a challenge at times because I felt I couldn’t really talk to my Manager or
Principal as they were always busy. I knew I didn’t have all the answers or ideas to implement to be more
successful and began to lose confidence and belief in myself. Even though we have five in our sales team,
I felt like a bit of a lone ranger. Productivity seemed slow too; for example, I would email tasks to Lucy, our
Sales Administrator, but was often frustrated when I followed her up to hear her complain that she was still
going through all her emails as there were so many from everyone. Lucy was copied into all emails around
the office to keep her informed so the work took longer to get done because of it. I was using the same
old processes and documents that we had in the office as Lucy had no time to update or refresh them. I
knew Lucy was doing the best she could but had no one to bounce ideas off to improve the systems. These
issues didn’t really help me to list more, sell more and make more money and I was considering leaving.
I never had a lot to do with the Property Management Department or the BDM other than catching up
socially at Friday drinks.
How has REDlinx helped you and the rest of the team in your office?
I never thought that REDlinx would make such a difference! For myself personally, being in the REDlinx
community, I can search for information, resources and ideas 24/7; no matter where I am and also
communicate with others in the industry about what’s working and what’s not. I feel more engaged with our
whole office now including the Principal, Manager and also the Property Management team as we all now
use our very own private Agency Community as a hub to chat in and share ideas, find out about office or
local news or ask for advice. We certainly are working more cohesively as a team than ever before and use
our hub to get alerts about new listings, meetings and congratulate team members on their wins; including
Lucy. I’ve certainly seen Lucy become far more productive. She tells me that’s because she has had a huge
reduction in internal email which means she can focus on completing my important tasks! Sales Agents with
little experience really feel well supported and have hit the ground running faster than before because they
have great resources to search for the right advice in the REDlinx community. Culturally, it is a much more
pleasant and calm work environment to be in and I’m feeling renewed energy and focused on kicking more
goals. It’s all mobile too so we can use it on any device from wherever we happen to be.
