how do I access the
court support services?
• You can contact Caxton Legal Centre for a
referral to the duty lawyer.
• You can also ask court staff to refer you to
the duty lawyer on the day you attend your
court hearing.
• You may use the court services on each
occasion you have a court case.

The Seniors Legal and Support Service provides free
social work and legal support to older persons over
the age of 60 (over 50 if Indigenous) including:

social work support at courts/tribunals for
self-represented older persons
•
legal advice, preparation of court documents
and legal representation (in certain
circumstances) on domestic and family
violence matters including ouster orders
(removal of the person, who is harming the
older person, from the home)
•
advice, assistance, drafting of court
documents, court support (duty lawyer
services) in relation to grandparent issues
and financial abuse
•
advice, drafting of court documents and
assistance with preparing for QCAT hearings.
