Job Purpose
The role of the Nurturing Talent Fund Officer is to work with Young Scot’s Information and Strategy Team
to provide support and assistance to the delivery of the Nurturing Talent Fund. The fund is supported by
Creative Scotland and is a key element of Scotland’s youth arts strategy – Time to Shine. Aimed at young
people between the ages of 14 and 20, the aim of the fund is to help develop talent in a particular creative
area. The role of the Nurturing Talent Fund Officer is vital to ensure the continued success and
development of the fund as it continues to grow in recognition and popularity, and to ensure the fund is
reaching those who would benefit most.
Key Responsibilities









Answering all queries in relation to the Creative Scotland’s Nurturing Talent - Time To Shine Fund;
Maintaining and updating grant database;
Ensuring the safe and secure storage of all incoming data in relation to young people and funding
requests;
Monitoring and evaluating the awarded funding; including producing case studies
Arranging and attending meetings of the funding panel;
Communicating with young people to update them on the status of their funding application;
Updating the Young Scot site with deadline dates and updated fund information;
Ensuring all relevant financial information has been collected and passed on to the Finance Team when
funding is awarded;
Ensuring the timely completion of all monitoring reports to Creative Scotland;

Meeting with representatives from Creative Scotland to discuss progression and development of the
fund when necessary;
Timely creation of summary and update reports on the fund for Creative Scotland;
Ensuring that completed impact reports have been created from each fund awardee;
Liaising with other teams at Young Scot to ensure the effective promotion and marketing of the fund;
including working with the Communications Manager to develop a communications strategy
Issue feedback on funding applications to young people, where necessary;
To assist with the development of processes and procedures in relation to administration of the fund;
Other tasks which are necessary for completion of the role, or where requested by the Codesign
Manager.
