Schedule
The tournament shall commence at 10am FRIDAY, SEPTEMBER 27 with the last game (A Final) being
played at 2pm SUNDAY, SEPTEMBER 29.
There will be a total of 8 teams that will each play (3) Round Robin games with a guaranteed (2) games
in the play-off rounds.
Full Schedule will also be posted at the event Arena.
Fees
Tournament fee is $1,000. Your team will be required to pay a $500 deposit – payable via cheque or
Money Order. Due to the nature of the timelines, all tournament fee deposits are non-refundable, upon
receipt of team confirmation for the tournament.

Final Payment ($500) can be made at the arena prior to the team’s first game. Payments must be made
in full prior to first game or team will forfeit the game(s) until payment is received.
Insurance and Roster
Tournament Insurance & Team Roster – By Sept 26, 2013, send a copy of your team insurance policy.
Email a copy of your player roster to [email protected]. Rosters will be used to prepare gamesheets
and announcement for post-game awards.
Waiver
You will be required to sign the following waiver prior to participation in the tournament. Waivers can
be signed and faxed or completed at the registration table at the tournament venue.
WAIVER: In consideration of being allowed to participate in the 2013 KC IceBreaker Atom AA Hockey
Tournament, related events, and activities, the undersigned acknowledges and agrees, on behalf of the
attending team that the KC IceBreaker Atom AA Hockey Tournament and the Knights of Columbus
Icemen Hockey Team will not be held responsible for any accident, injury, or loss however caused and
hereby releases and holds harmless the KC IceBreaker Atom AA Hockey Tournament and the Knights of
Columbus Icemen Hockey Team, their officers, directors, officials, coaches, agents and/or employees, ,
other participants, arena officials and owners, sponsors, and advertisers, with respect to any and all
injury, disability, or loss to person or property, whether caused by the negligence of the releases or

Location
All games will be played out of the Bon Accord Arena - 4812-52nd st, Bon Accord, Alberta
Bon Accord is located along Rt-28 in central Alberta, approx. 35 km north of Edmonton.
From Edmonton: 97 St. NW/Rt-28 East approx. 35 km to 51st St. in Bon Accord. Bear left onto 51st St.
and proceed northeast approx. 0.2 km to 48th Avenue. Turn left on 48th Ave. and proceed west a short
distance to 52nd St. and arena.
Tournament Rules and Regulations
Hockey Alberta playing rules will apply, with the following additions:
1. The tournament will be comprised of teams playing ‘AA’ during the Winter Season:
2. Home team will wear light colored jerseys. Visitors wear dark. Any team not able to comply will
be responsible for notifying the Head Tournament Official and opposing team at least 1 hr prior to
game time. All teams will be required to supply their own warm up pucks.
3. In championship final games the team with the best round robin record will be the home team.
4. All games must start as scheduled. Any team unable to commence play ten (10) minutes after the
scheduled starting time will forfeit the game. In this case, unless the Tournament Committee
deems discretionary action appropriate, the opposing team will be awarded a 5-0 win.
4 minute warm-up will apply.
All games will consist of three 15-minute straight time periods, with ice to be flooded after each
game. If the score is within 2 goals, the final 3 minutes will be played stop time
In ALL GAMES, penalties are run time and will be 3 minutes in duration and the timekeeper may stop
the clock to post the penalty time on the arena board at which point running time will resume. Any
changes between running and stop time will not affect the duration of penalties already in effect.
5. There will be one 30-second time out allowed per team, per game.
6. Centre Red Line will only be used for icing. Two line passes are allowed. No touch icing is in
effect.
7. Stick measurements will not be permitted due to ice time constraints.
8. Any player or team official who receives a second major penalty (ie: intent to injure, checking from
behind, fighting) shall be suspended from further play in the tournament and may be barred from the
arena. Other suspensions may apply for certain violations if warranted in the opinion of the
Tournament Committee.
9. Any team whose coach, manager, or official fails to maintain adequate control over his team, on or
off the ice, may face disciplinary action, including expulsion from the tournament.
10. Referee and Off-ice officials harassment by teams, parents and other spectators will not be
tolerated. Offending individual(s) WILL be barred from the arena at the discretion of the referee
and/or tournament officials.
11. STANDINGS / TIEBREAKERS:
A) Points will be accumulated in the round robin based on 2 points for a win, 1 point for a tie, and
zero for a loss. In determining the Play-off seeding, any ties in standings after round robin play will be
broken as follows:
1. Head to Head record
2. Goal differential between the tied teams. Calculated by GF / (GF + GA). Highest resulting
decimal will be rewarded the tie break
3. Total Goals For (highest number)
4. Total Goals Against (fewest number)
5. Coin Toss
B) Game ties will be broken in the QUARTER FINAL, SEMI-FINAL, and FINAL GAMES ONLY. Sudden –
death overtime will apply, during which there will be a 5-minute run time period with both teams
playing 3 on 3 (out players). Each team must play a Goaltender. If the score remains tied, each team
will select 3 shooters and each player will take one shot on an alternating basis between the two
teams. The team with the most goals win. If still tied, the shootout changes to sudden-death until a
winner is declared. Teams may not use the same shooter until every player has taken a shot.
