Better Fishing Ministries exists to develop a passion for the outdoors

Better Fishing Ministries exists to develop a passion for the outdoors, for
fishing, and for Jesus.
Safety/ Health
 Safety will always be the ultimate priority.
 If Better Fishing volunteers request you to do or not do something for safety, please
respectfully comply.
 Please use sanitary practices to prevent illness within the group. Gel hand sanitizer will be
provided.
 Do not drink untreated water from the river or its tributaries.
 We cannot allow anyone to board a boat without first providing a signed participant agreement
and insurance forms.
 We cannot allow anyone to ride on the back deck of the boats while standing without wearing
an appropriate personal flotation device.
 Any children 12 or under must wear a personal flotation device while the boat is under way.
 No fireworks allowed.
 No firearms allowed.
 No alcohol or recreational drugs allowed
 Please notify your trip leader if you have any serious food allergies that may require special
arrangements so they can inform Better Fishing Ministries prior to your trip.
Fishing
 A valid fishing license for Idaho will be required to participate, and a Steelhead Tag must be
purchased in addition to a standard fishing license. Go to the Idaho Fish and Game website for
license options and current pricing: http://fishandgame.idaho.gov/cms/licenses/
 Know and follow all state fishing regulations. If you have any questions about the regulations
please ask.
 Bring a rod and reel that are in good working order and capable of landing a 15-20 pound
steelhead. You may bring tackle of your choice; however, fishing from boats will be mostly
back-trolling with gear provided by BFM.
 If you do not have an appropriate rod and reel, please inform your trip leader now so we can
arrange to have one available for you.
Respect for the Environment
 We will practice “low impact” camping. All fishing line, candy wrappers, or any other nonnatural items must be packed out.
 Do not use any soap in the river. If bathing, use only biodegradable soap and use it more than
100 feet from any water source.
 Although the campsite is unimproved and has no running water, there is an outhouse.
 No pets.
 No amplified music.
