Before & After School Enrichment Enrollment Form 2016-2017 for ACERA STUDENTS
After School and Enrichment at Acera aims to provide extended day coverage for all parents, while also providing
students with valuable and enriching activities and experiences. This form explains our timing, policies and pricing, and
allows you to
1) Sign up for Early Drop Off or Language Lab from 8 to 8:30 a.m. at $10 per day
2) Sign up for Playground Time/Delayed Pick up from School from 3-3:30 p.m. at $5 per day
3) Enroll your child in one or more afternoon enrichment offerings. (Pricing below; children who are signed up for
an afternoon program stay for the 3-3:30 p.m. recess at no additional cost.)

Timing:
We divide the school year into trimesters, so students enroll in a particular enrichment program for one trimester at a
time. Enrichment classes meet once a week, from 3:30 p.m. – 5:30 p.m., for 11-12 weeks (unless there is a holiday/no
school day.)




The cost for a single day of enrollment in enrichment is $30.
Political Science Club Pricing:
Additional costs may include periodic evening, Saturday or Sunday excursions.
Science Lab Pricing: $900-950.00 per trimester (lab use and materials fees included.)
Policies:
o All regular school policies apply to our after school enrichment program including additional
charges for snacks for students if they forget them. Families enrolled in enrichment need to
participate in Acera sign in/sign out protocols.
o Snack: Acera does not provide snack; we ask that parents send their children in with snack,
should they require one.
o General Coverage: When parents contact us for coverage on a particular day, students will
default to inclusion in the Games, Arts & Discovery session. If a student prefers to participate in
another enrichment program on that day, we do our best to allow students to “drop in” to the
enrichment offering of their choice if there is space, but we cannot guarantee availability.
o School Holidays: After School and Enrichment Programs do not occur on school holidays.
Please reference the School Year Calendar for a list of these days. All yellow and green days
indicate days off from school.

o Missed Classes. Students can make up one afternoon class per trimester. If you have to miss an
afternoon and would like to make it up in a different class or in Games & Discovery, please
contact the front desk.
o Late Fees:
o For Acera students enrolled in After School Enrichment until 6pm, a late fee of $10 is
charged for parents who arrive late (after 6pm) to pick up from after school. Late pickups are tracked each night, and billing for late fees occurs retroactively at the end of
each month. Fees can be paid cash to the front office, and are transferred to the
instructor who stayed late.
o The same process applies to students who stay in after school or enrichment longer
than their enrollment indicates. Parents will be billed monthly for extra time, payable by
check to Acera School.
o Playground Time/Delayed Pick Up From School: Students can enroll on a recurring or as
needed basis. Students are dismissed at 3pm directly to the playground, and may stay for the
recess portion of after school for a fee of $5/day. Parents should park in a space, and pick their
child up from the playground by 3:30pm. After 3:30, students will be rolled into Games, Arts
and Discovery / general coverage program. Parents will be billed accordingly at the rate of $10
for late pick up or at the enrichment enrollment drop in rate. Application of fees is at the
discretion of Acera staff.
o Middle School Homework Time: Middle School students who are enrolled in after school can
opt to work on school assignments in lieu of regular after school programs at the discretion of
the after school teachers. Middle School students need to be enrolled in after school and under
the supervision of after school staff if they are planning to stay at school past 3pm.
Participation:
o Decisions about participation in Enrichment programming are made at the discretion of the
Enrichment teacher. If a student is not able to participate in a safe and productive way, or if the
teacher feels that the student is not engaging at a level appropriate for the program, the teacher may
redirect the student to an alternate activity or ask the family to un-enroll their child for future sessions.
o If a child is enrolled in Enrichment but the teacher concludes that he or she is not ready to participate
in the program, the parents will be notified by the teacher and given an option for an appropriately
prorated refund of the session.
o Any student enrolled at Acera for our school day program is eligible to participate in any program
identified as for ages 7+ (even if the Acera student is 5 or 6 years old.)
