About Online Classroom recordings Once you have finished recording your Online Classroom, ALL attendees must have left the session for at least 15 minutes, before the recording will begin to render in Learnline. It can take up to 24 hours for a recording to display in your Learnline unit. The native (original) recording is always available for students to view from within your Learnline unit via the recording name or the purple Blackboard Collaborate icon. The native recording captures everything that occurs within the Web Conferencing interface: - audio and webcam video participants panel chat whiteboard, application sharing and web tour file transfer Lecturers are responsible for converting Online Classroom recordings to mp3 or mp4 files that can then be downloaded and reused. See the tip sheet: Convert your Online Classroom recording into an MP3 or MP4 file Converted recordings may not remain converted for the duration of the semester as an algorithm runs on the Blackboard Collaborate recordings server to identify files which have not been viewed or downloaded for some time, and automatically removes the conversion. The native recording though, remains. When a native recording is deleted from a Learnline unit, it is also deleted from the Blackboard Collaborate server at that same moment.
