Jaida was all over the field and Adrian also was back and forth the entire game. Colin, Travis, Cole, and Abby showed some good dribbling skills. Great week! Mexico: Great team effort by Mexico we had great ball movement, which created a scoring surge. Cole and Ellie lead the way with 3 goals each, Kaelyn, Carter and Parker each scored one goal. Lucus, Jaden and Jacob had great offensive push. Marcus and Aiden led the way to a great team defense, which only allowed 2 goals. Portugal: Team K Portugal had a lot of fun and played well against Team USA this week! The kids did a great job on defense stopping the ball and going the right way down the field towards their goal. The kids also did a nice job of sharing the ball better this week and took lots of shots - way to go! France: Team France faced a tough Brazil squad during week 2 of the season. The offensive efforts were lead by Lucas, Cameron and Jeremy, with each of them keeping pressure in Brazil's end of the field. On the defensive side, Isabella, Shrihan and Allie did a great job pressuring the ball carriers and clearing the ball down the field. Germany: The players are starting to become more comfortable with the ball and direction. My favorite part of the game was when all 4 players, on the field, touch the ball before Max scored. It was teamwork at it's best. Corey had a fabulous game scoring his first two goals of the season. Argentina: Argentina showed great passing as a team. Christiano and Lily both scored for our team this week. Kamdyn and Gavin showed defensive skills, blocking the opponents and moving the ball downfield. Great teamwork. USA: Week 2 was a great week for team USA. In her first game of the season, Aryelle showed tremendous hustle as she chased the ball all over the field. The team continues to learn solid defense, including Brianna, who showed great poise and defense against the other team. Colombia: Team Columbia had another great game against a tough Argentina. Sanaya was hustling all over the field and most improved from week 1. Kate had a great game and was up and down the field with amazing speed helping to keep possession with Columbia and the whole team energized. Special thanks to John K for helping the coaches out and keeping the game on schedule. Grade 2 Girls USA: It was a physical game this week. Team USA girls played hard and never gave up pulling out a win. Outstanding offensive plays from Olivia & Daphne and defensive plays by Sarah & Leila with Charley and Kayla stopping shots made on goal. It was a great performance from the entire team. Canada: Team Canada had a great week! The players continued to work on dribbling, passing and controlling the ball while having LOTS of fun. The team played against a tough Germany team, but still came away with some amazing plays. So many players shined on offensive like Alex, Brandon, and Blaine. Savannah did an incredible job playing the whole field. Team Canada looks forward to being back on the field this Sunday! Go Canada! Portugal: This week Team Portugal had a great day on the pitch. Everyone had come to play and it showed. The girls are finding what positions they like to play best on the field and are getting a feel for the new format. During this week's game, everyone looked good. A few standouts were Isabella playing the goalie position like she has been doing it for years, and Kayden pressing as hard as she could against the other teams defense. The coaches can't wait to see what the next game brings! 3 Highlights Continued Grade 2 Boys Grade 3/4 Boys New Zealand: Team New Zealand showed great teamwork in just the second week of games. Christian played strong putting a few goals away. All of the goalies who played this week made multiple saves. Argentina: Everyone on Team Argentina played great. 2 goals by Kyle and 1 goal by Daniel. USA: Our newest roster member Cristian added some much needed offensive support, scoring his first two goals for team USA and setting the ball rolling for this offensive heavy game. Richie tallied a couple scores as well, but they would not have those opportunities if not for the Hard Defensive work of Bryan and Hassan. Brazil: A great game this week by team Brazil. The three Ethan's played very well on the field this week. Lucas didn't allow any goals during his turn as the goalie. Nate found his inner soccer player and helped greatly in moving the ball forward. We saw some decent passing at times and it was good to see the athletes grow. Brazil: Brazil and Canada battled back and forth both teams created lots of opportunities. Sam found the back of the net twice for Brazil - Logen and Janiel showed some nice teamwork and Lucas was a defensive presence in goal. Robert had some nice clearances as well. Great game, boys! Germany: Team Germany had a challenging game against team New Zealand. The team played a hard game but is still trying to place players into their optimum positions. Richard had a great half in goal and Jacoby was up and down the field filling in where needed. The team is looking forward to our next game on Sunday. Canada: Amazing game with great team playing. Together our boys pulled a victory of 4- 2 win over Brazil. Chris came through in a clutch scoring 3 of our 4. With assists from Bradley and Tristin. Tristin scoring our 4th. Owen H saving our goal zone. Great game boys! Grade 3/4 Girls Portugal: Team Portugal faced a tough challenge from a very talented and well coached USA team. Aidan played an aggressive goal tending style for the first half and was terrific. Adrian followed suit, playing a super second half in goal. Argentina: Tough loss for Argentina this time around. It was close most of the game. Erica found the back of the net early, but it would be the only time. The girls still played very well, teamwork is key! Argentina will bounce back next week! Portugal: Portugal had a great game against Brazil we won 2 to 0. Goals scored by Jackie and Laura with an assist by Sam. Excellent defense work by Melissa, Allison, Ocean, Annayah and goalies Ruby and Ashlynn. Nice hustle and offense by Caitlyn and Scarlett. Brazil: The girls of team Brazil are starting to find their positions on the field. Elyse and Chloe were solid at goaltender, putting a stop to an onslaught of attempts and distributing the ball well into space. Jenna was a force to be reckoned with at center back, stopping advances in the defensive 3rd of the field. Fiona spread the field on counter attacks receiving distributions well from the keeper. 4 Highlights Continued Grade 5/6 Coed Grade 7/10 Coed Germany: Team Germany played well and pulled out a 4-1 win over Team France. The team defense, led by Annabelle, Isabella, Jessica and Derik was really strong and were in great position all game. Ella (with a great diving save) and Colin (who also scored a goal) made some tough saves in goal against a France team that came at us all game. Trinity, Robert, Nick and Kyle played terrific on both ends of the field, hustling to the ball and showing good awareness. Charlie (2 goals) played excellent in midfield, and Sergio made his debut by sparking several rushes and scoring his first goal. Argentina: A good game against Portugal ended in a hard fought 2 - 2 tie. Every player contributed with making key passes and fine defensive stops. Ethan and Marissa played great in goal and then on defense. Tyler had the offense going with Josh, Alyssa, Arjun, Yarelis, Arnav and new comers Skylaih and Karina making some great plays. A beautiful goal was scored in the 1st half; with a great give and go. Tim anchored the defense with Abby, Paul, Justus and Alex clearing the ball when needed. Many of the players played both sides of the ball and the teamwork is really showing. New Zealand: Just in one weeks time Team New Zealand had improved greatly. Both goalies had great games making multiple saves. The game was very close with Colombia just winning by one last minute goal. Team New Zealand really had a great game! Brazil: Brazil and USA played a every competitive match from start to finish ending in a 1-1 tie. Team Brazil's offence was passing the ball well and creating opportunities. The defense also played well keeping the ball out of their end for the majority of the game. Ayanah played well on the sidelines executing good passes. Caleb, Araya and Jacob played well defense hustling every ball, Our Goalie Christopher made some good saves. Our goals were the result of coordinated team effort, Good Job Team Colombia! USA: If you only saw one game this year, this was the one! Playing before a packed house, Team USA tied Brazil, 1 -1. Many stars of the game, two of them were Matt H and Steve in net, stopping everything in sight. A complete force on defense on Matt L, he didn't let anyone get by him. Bryce, Delia and Rohan played great on offense but were shut out trying put net a score. Brendan scored the lone goal looking like Ronaldo out there, putting a shot in the net where it looked like it was going out of bounds. Kudos to the tough opponent Brazil. Canada: Team Canada wowed the crowd with incredible teamwork! They had fantastic communication on the field and great support for each other when on the sidelines. Strong defensive plays by Eliana, Jazlyn, Ninad, and Owen along with fierce goal protection by Nick and Jack prevented very persistent Team Mexico from scoring. We were able to consistently move the ball up the field through skillful dribbling by Christopher and Anthony and strategic passing by Ryley, Kyra, Vaidehi, and Gerty. Contributions by all players made for a thrilling game! 5
