Position Description
Purpose and Duties Of The Committee
Responsible for member unit (section/division) recruitment and retention efforts. Develops and implements
plans to maximize membership renewal and encourages interested persons to join ASQ.
Term
One year: July 1 to June 30
Specific Duties and Responsibilities of HCD Audit Committee Member
 Assists the Membership Committee Leadership in the performance of the following tasks and duties:
o setting goals/metrics to support the management process as it relates to member recruitment and
retention.
o participating in and/or leading activities decided upon to meet the goals set for member recruitment
and retention.
o advocating for member value, satisfaction, and loyalty.
o obtaining necessary information regarding member demographics and expectations to recommend
appropriate programs and services.
o conducting review and analysis of monthly membership information.
o assisting in the development, implementation, and maintenance of the welcome program for
communicating with new members and introducing them to HCD programs and services.
o ensuring that all members are being communicated to regularly and in accordance with their
preferences.
o developing, implementing, and maintaining programs for following up with unpaid members to
encourage them to renew their ASQ membership, to continue accessing programs and services,
and to become engaged with the HCD activities.
o developing, implementing, and maintaining, an HCD recruitment program.
o Promoting participation in the ASQ member-get-a-member program (Each One Reach One).
 Attends HCD Membership Committee meetings.
 Upholds Society Bylaws, Policies and Procedures, and Division Management Agreement.
Qualifications
 Must be a member in good standing of ASQ and of the HCD.
 Knowledge and experience in membership market research and promotion is helpful.
 Preferably will have strong written and verbal communication skills.
 Recruitment experience an advantage.
Time Commitment
Approximately 1-2 hours per month
