Specific Instructions for entering declarations a) Lower Use the club’s team number for each declared athlete (1, 11 or 2, 22 etc) Relays are entered as 1,2,3,and 4 for the athletes in the relay. The system will highlight cells, if:i The athlete has been entered for too many events ii The athlete has been entered for the 600 and 1500 (or 1200), which is against league rules iii Too many athletes have been entered for an event Non Scoring events allow any number to be entered, but more likely to be 1,11, 2,22 etc. b) Upper As in the lower, we are using the team numbers but in this case we also have the letters to consider. U17 athletes are always entered under U17.s where the entry in an event can be 1,11,A,AA or 2,22,B,BB and so on. The U20’s must only be entered as under U20’s and can only be the number. Relays are entered as 1,2,3,4 or A,B,C,D The system will highlight cells if:i The athlete has been entered for too many events. This will be 5 events for an U20 and 4 events for U17’s and of these 4, 1 at least must be a relay. ii Too many athletes have been entered for an event PLEASE REMEMBER TO KEEP SAVING YOUR WORK THROUGHOUT THE DAY 3 ENTERING OF RESULTS The TABS to use when entering results are Track1, Relays, Middle D, Distance Input, Height Input. To go to the appropriate result entry you require, from the DASHBOARD click on the appropriate event. When the result has been entered, a tick will, appear next to the selected event. Track1 Enter results in the normal manner using the team number/letter and then the performance. The exception is the 800m where the time can be entered as 2.011 where 2.011 equates to 02:01.1. This will be reformatted for printing if the overall results in age group order. If any events are run together the finishing order decides the A and B. So if in a hurdle race the B runner finishes in front of the A runner, the B becomes the A. Relays. As for Track 1 enter team numbers and performance. The 4x400(300) are entered as the same as the 800m’s above. Middle D: Enter the results as they finish. The program will calculate the A’s and B’s. Also enter times as per the 800m’s. These will be converted for all printing in to the normal format. Distance Input; Under the event required, enter the best performance from the field card onto the input sheet which is in lane draw order. If two or more cells are highlighted in red, this means you have equal performances. From the field card add .001 to the better performance so they are split. If it is more than two make it .002, 0.001, etc Height Input. Again enter the best performance as in Distance Input. For the height cards, you will also need to enter their finishing position 1 to 16, In the case of a tie, which again will have the performance highlighted, enter in the positions, 3.1, 3.2, 3.3 where for instance we have 3 athletes tied in 3rd place. NOTE: When FIELD JUDGES complete the field cards, they only need to rank the performances 1 to 16. They do not need to split the A and B athletes. You will have noticed I have ignored TAB Track2. This is used for printing the actual result with A and B separated and the time formatted to the normal format. You don’t need to touch this TAB. PLEASE REMEMBER TO KEEP SAVING YOUR WORK THROUGHOUT THE DAY 4 PRINTING Again, this is all done from the DASHBOARD TAB. FIELD CARDS: To print field cards you can either select ALL and print everything at the start of the meeting or you can select the individual events as you need them, For each selection, 1 sheet will be printed. If you require more, then you will need to click the event again. TRACK SLIPS: This has still to be formatted. This will be completed after the online portal is ready. PRINTING OF RESULTS In all cases when a page is complete, a printer will display against the option. Each of the options show how many events have been completed out of the number on the page. If the user were to hover over the timetable column, they would see the cursor change to a hand which means they could print that sheet off after less than the designated number of events on the page. The idea is that rather than simply displaying every event as it finishes, you display a page as it is completed. For instance, the first page of track results would print after the 4 hurdles races (A and B). Note the results don’t print off automatically, the user has to select to print. The two options for printing are in Timetable order for displaying and age group order for printing at the event. Time will tell what team managers prefer but if we use timetable orders pages of results can be created throughout the match saving time at the end of the day. PLEASE REMEMBER TO KEEP SAVING YOUR WORK THROUGHOUT THE DAY 5
