This Mandatory Advising Workshop (MAW) presented by the Ivy Tech Academic Advising Center is a
required first step for students interested in pursuing the following majors at Ivy Tech Community
College-Evansville:
Nursing RN or LPN
Health Care Specialist
Medical Assisting
Paramedic Science
Surgical Technology
Therapeutic Massage
Exploratory Healthcare
careers
This group workshop will help students learn about majors in the Schools of Nursing and Health Sciences,
as well as discuss all essential steps involved in applying for selective admission programs, completing
prerequisite requirements and learning further about campus resources made available to all students.
During the workshop, you will also have an opportunity to meet with an academic advisor to plan out
courses to be taken the next academic semester. It is a great way to get information and advising all in 1
session. Workshops last roughly 45 minutes and are followed by your advising session.
You must pre-register for a workshop. You may sign up for a workshop by calling 1-812-492-0531 or by
visiting the Academic Advising Center room 108.

Since the MAW includes an advising session, all enrollment steps must be complete prior to attending
the Nursing and Health Sciences MAW.



