Martin Luther King Jr. (born Michael King Jr., January 15, 1929 - April 4, 1968) was an American Baptist minister and activist who was a leader in the Civil Rights Movement. He is best known for his role in the advancement of civil rights using nonviolent civil disobedience based on his Christian beliefs. Economic Development The new owner of the former K House of Flowers property at Milwaukee and Foster avenues is seeking a permit to demolish the one-story building. There are no other immediate development plans for the site, according to Alderman Arena's office. The longtime owner of the business passed away about a year ago, and a relative temporarily kept the flower shop open. It is believed that a flower shop operated on the site for at least five decades. We Need Your Help!!!! We will need donations for the Installation Gala. Please contact Cathy with your donation.
