Competitors will use their LVMGA course/tee handicap. GHIN handicaps will be substituted in cases when no MGA handicap exists. In the match, the higher handicap competitor will receive ONE additional stroke on a number of holes equal to the difference between the competitors’ handicaps. The stroke will be assigned on the appropriate holes, in accordance with the course hole-handicap allocation. RULES. All play will be governed by the USGA Rules of Golf. Minor Rules infractions are subject to LOSS OF HOLE (not 1 or 2 Stroke Penalty as in Stroke Play). Major Rules infractions could result in DISQUALIFICATION. If a Rules dispute arises in a match without immediate mutual-player resolution, then a claim must be filed at the point of disagreement, and a second ball may be put into play, if necessary, to resolve the conflict. The resolution to the claim must come from a LVGC golf professional, but failure to make a timely claim will result in forfeiture of a competitor’s right to make such a claim. MATCH WON. The competitor with the larger number of holes won will be declared the winner. If a regulation, 18-hole match ends “All Square,” then play must continue with additional holes played until an outright winner can be declared. A competitor WILL forfeit a match for refusal to continue after regulation play ends for reasons other than darkness or a weather-related threat. FORFEITURE. A competitor WILL forfeit a match for failure to notify his opponent of his inability to play on a mutually agreed upon date and time. Make an effort to avoid forfeits due to unforeseen date-time conflicts by agreeing to re-schedule the match. A competitor may elect to voluntarily forfeit a match.
