Economics Minor A minor in Economics requires: a minimum of 18 units in Economics a minimum of 9 (of the 18 units) must be upper-division (300 or 400 level) In addition to the above unit specifications, minors in Economics must complete the following specific course requirements: 1. Introductory Economics: ONE of these introductory offerings must be completed before other Economics classes can be taken. (Students cannot receive units for both) ECON 200 or ECON 201A-B 2. Macroeconomics Requirement: Students must complete ONE of the following three classes: ECON 330 (can only be taken during Summer and Winter Sessions) ECON 331 (typically offered in the Fall) ECON 332 (Prerequisite: MATH 113 or 116 or 122 A/B or 125) 3. Microeconomics Requirement: Students must complete ONE of the following three classes: ECON 300 (can only be taken during Summer and Winter Sessions) ECON 301 (typically offered in the Spring) ECON 361 (Prerequisite: MATH 113 or 116 or 122 A/B or 125) Additional Economics electives should be selected to complete the 18 unit requirement based on student interest and goals. Please note: Students who minor in Economics are only eligible to take ECON 300 and 330 during the Summer and Winter Sessions. Students interested in taking ECON 332 or 361 should note that MATH 113 or 116 or 122 A/B or 125 (with a C or better) is a prerequisite for both courses. ECON 291,391, 393, 399 or 498H cannot be used for ECON electives. Minors do not have access to ECON electives (3/4XX level) until after Priority Registration.
