Fantasy sports games, and in particular, Daily Fantasy Sports (DFS), have
experienced rapid and dramatic growth in the past few years. Their popularity
has been accompanied by increasing interest from policy makers, regulators
and entertainment industry competitors. Some question the legality of certain
aspects of DFS while others are calling for a regulatory structure to better
protect consumers. Other activities such as eSports and Internet-based skill
games are garning less public attention but ironically they currently have
larger markets. This session will discuss the legal and policy issues related to
these evolving activities and provide a forum for informed panel discussion
and audience questions on the complex issues that will be a focus of
legislative, legal and regulatory activity in many jurisdictions over the next few
years. Each jurisdiction is different, and this session will provide valuable
information to regulators and policy makers to help them make the right
decisions for their situation.
