Welcome to the ACT Oztag 2017 Winter Oztag season!
This information package has been made to help team delegates and parents understand the
registration process. Please have a thorough read through the whole information package for all
relevant registration information, competition rules and regulations, uniform requirements and
injury/insurance policies.
Pages 6 and 7 must be completely filled in and taken to the registration day or send in via email.

June 12th – No Games Public Holiday

Washout Rounds if needed – July 10th, July 17th
How to Register?
There are 2 ways you can join our 2017 Winter Oztag competition;
1. Come along to one of our Registration days listed below. You can register by entering a
whole team (minimum of 10 players) and pay at the registration night.
2. Please entirely fill in the 2017 Winter Registration form and Team covering sheet and email
to [email protected] with registration form and receipt of payment attached.
To enter a team you must have a minimum of 10 players, there is no restriction on how many
players per team however we suggest no more than 12 to allow players enough game time.
Registration days:
Kambah Junior Competition Registration Night – to be held on Monday 24th April 2017 at the
Burns Club Kambah. 8 Kett St, Kambah ACT 2902 4:30pm – 6:30pm
Holt Junior Competition Registration Night – to be held on Wednesday 26th April 2017 at
Magpies Sports Club. 76-80 Hardwick Crescent, Holt ACT 2615 4:30pm – 6:30pm

Team Registration:
To secure your spot early you must ensure that you pay your full team’s payment in one
transaction (Players are not to pay individually) into the account below and send your
registration form (ensuring all players have done online activation), team delegate acceptance
form and a printed proof of payment to: [email protected]
Payment must be made into the correct account for the competition (noting venue, and team name
e.g. ‘Kamb Oztaggers’

Payments can be made by Credit Card over the phone or paid in cash at the
office/registration night.
Registration Amount:
Junior Teams – $70 per player/per team
Players will not be eligible to take the field until payment has been made.
Draws/Divisions
Competition draws will be available on our website www.actoztag.com.au under each competition
tab weekly as well as posted on the “ACT Oztag” Team App.
Upon divisions being graded a season draw will be posted by round 4.
When registering a team it is important to select which division you would like to nominate however
it is at ACT Oztag’s discretion based on results.
Representative Player Rule
There is a limit of 4 current representative players per team. A current representative player is a
player who has played in the 2017 Junior State Cup or the 2016 Junior Nationals.
Shadow players are not included as a representative player unless they were called into/played at
one of the above tournaments.
Complaints Process
For all complaints to be dealt with promptly, seriously, sensitively and confidentially please follow
this guide:
1. Go to the Ground Controllers at the Canteen during the game/on the night of the issue so
they can deal with the issue on the spot
2. If you are unhappy with the result please send an email to [email protected]

Registration Activation
Never Played Oztag Before: New players will need to create a membership at
https://aosamembership.mysportsedge.com.au/ by clicking on “never played Oztag before”. All
details must be filled into the form and then an email will be received with your unique Oztag
Australian Registration Number (which is to be put on the registration form).
Played Oztag before: At the commencement of every Oztag season played players must “ReActivate” their membership online at https://aosamembership.mysportsedge.com.au/ (Link is also
posted on our website). An email will be received with your unique Oztag Australian Registration
Number (which is to be put on the registration form).
Please select ‘ACT Southern Regions’
Uniform
It is a requirement that all players wear official Oztag Australian shorts/tights during the
competition. Shorts can be purchased at each competition venue for $25 per pair and female tights
$30 per pair.
Females are welcome to wear shorts. Under no circumstance are Velcro patches allowed to be
sewn onto pants, players without official Oztag pants/tights will not be able to take the field.
Teams must have matching shirts/singlet’s by week 4 of the competition. A penalty of 1 try to the
opposing team per player out of uniform will be applied.
Injuries/Insurance
Injuries must be reported to competition organisers at the time of injury. Organisers will fill in an
injury report form which will cover the player had they need to seek further medical attention.

Notes
 Players must sign on at the sign on tables before taking the field each week. Teams may
lose competition points for having a different number of players on the field to that of how
many have signed on. Players must also do this for registration purposes
 Players must play a minimum of 5 games to qualify for finals
 Players backing up for other teams see the competition organisers and obtain a sticker
which is to be given to the referee to exempt them from the uniform penalty.
- A team can only have 5 back ups per season, this will be recorded in the office. A
player cannot back up more then 3 times throughout the season.
- Representative players cannot be playing ‘down a division’
- Teams are able to ask a player to back up if they do not have 8 players to take the
field. Back up players are not allowed to be used to create substitutes.
 Random checks will be done each week ensuring teams are playing registered players only.
Penalties will apply to teams breaching these rules.
 In the event of wet weather rounds will be made up as much as possible. Wet Weather
information will be placed on the website and Facebook pages from 3.00pm on the game
day.

Conditions of Play
As a Player, I agree and understand:
I play at my own risk. If I have not signed the registration form, I will not be covered by any insurance and I play completely at my own risk.
Qualification of any team for the semi finals will depend upon validly signed and completed registration forms for all Players being submitted.
2. I will not wear football boots with screw in type studs (metal, nylon or spikes).
3. I will wear shoes suitable to playing the sport - I will not play in bare feet.
4. I will not wear jewellery (which includes men’s watches) while playing.
5. I will not talk to the referee unless I am the captain of a team.
6. I will not sledge either the opposition or my own team members.
This is a major offence and will result in me being sent off.
7. I must comply with the referee’s directions and decisions.
8. I must play in official Oztag shorts.
9. Any injury I sustain must be reported on the night of the injury.
Claims may be rejected if the injury is not reported on the night.
10. All teams must wear numbered shirts with numbers either clearly identified on both sleeves or with one large number on the back of the shirt.
11. Changes may occur during the competition. Information regarding any changes will be placed on the notice board each week.
Teams and Players are recommended to check these notices as these changes may affect them.
Injury Insurance & Liability
A summary of the Player Insurance cover is set out below.
2. Players acknowledge that there is a real possibility of injury in playing in the Oztag competition.
The most common injuries are ankle and knee injuries and broken bones but may include any form of injury, including in rare cases, death.
3. Players who desire more comprehensive or other insurance cover must obtain this cover prior to playing.
It is up to each Player to determine whether they require further cover in addition to the Player Insurance before they play.
As a Player, I warrant that:
1. I am in a fit state of health to play.
2. I will not be under the influence of alcohol or drugs that may adversely affect me while playing.
3. I have no pre-existing medical or other conditions which might cause me injury or be aggravated by playing.
4. I have read and understood these Conditions of Play.
5. I will comply with these Conditions of Play.
I acknowledge that if this information is incorrect, the Player Insurance may be voided.
Release
1. As a Player, I acknowledge that the Player Accident Insurance may be my only recourse to recover damages for personal injury.
2. I hereby RELEASE Oztag and its associated parties, including without limitation, its members, officers, servants and agents, contractors and referees
including any other person engaged by Oztag in any capacity (“the Oztag Parties”
or, individually, “Oztag Party”) from all liability for loss of any nature, including without limitation, all personal injury, including assault or battery,
economic loss sustained from personal injury, damage to property, whether arising
Out of negligence, breach of any statutory duty, breach of contract or at common law.
3. I acknowledge and represent that any Oztag Party regardless of their connection with me may rely on this release.
This release from liability applies unless specifically prohibited by statute.
4. Not with standing paragraph 14, Oztag expressly excludes all liability for death or personal injury to any Player in so far as such liability is
capable of being the subject of any implied warranty under section 74 of the Trade Practices Act 1974 (Cth) and any other state or territory
legislation having a similar purpose.
5. Paragraph 10 and the “Important Notice” on the registration form constitutes a risk warning for the purposes of the
Civil Liability Act 2002 NSW and any other legislation having a similar purpose.
6. These Conditions of Play represent the entire agreement and understanding between Oztag and the Player and bind the Player’s heirs,
successors and assigns.
7. Oztag will not waive or vary any of these Conditions of Play unless it does so by notice in writing.
