is accepting sealed bids for
ASPHALT DRIVEWAY AND PARKING LOT REPLACEMENT
 Pulverize the existing asphalt in place, from the
easternmost point of the east parking lot westward to 33'
west of the turnaround circle. approximately 40,000 square
feet
 Grade contour and compact regrind asphalt for proper
drainage.
 Haul away any surplus regrind asphalt
 Adjust height of manhole drains as needed
 Install new asphalt leveling course over the graded regrind
material new asphalt to be 2 inch cross sectional area 1100L
20AA
 Apply bonding coating
 Install new asphalt wearing top course over new asphalt
leveling course new asphalt to be 2 inch cross sectional
area, 1100 T 20AA
 Seal all new asphalt
 Pavement markings to match existing or approved
equivalent as directed by school
 Remove all debris from site
 Coordinate with concrete contractor to assure proper
finished elevation of the concrete flows and drains onto
new asphalt away from the school building.
 PATCH, repair and prep the complete driveway from
Coldwater Rd including the remainder of the west parking
lot for resurfacing, approximately 27,000 square feet.
 Clean and sweep area to be resurfaced
 Apply bonding coat
 Install 2" 1100T 20 AA top wearing coat asphalt
 Be sure new asphalt surface elevation and resurface
elevation have smooth homogenous transition
 Job will commence immediately after awarding of contract
and need to be completed prior to August 15, 2017
 Please include a timeline with your bid
 Contractor must be licensed and insured with Northridge
Academy named as additional insured on the policy.
For bids $23,417 or more, a minimum of 5% bid security, either in the form of a
Bid Bond or Cashiers’ Check payable to The Northridge Academy, must
accompany each bid.
Bids must be sent to 4100 W. Coldwater Rd. Flint, MI 48504, the envelope must
be marked “sealed asphalt bid”. Bids received after 1:00 p.m. July 20, 2017 will
not be considered.
Sealed bids will be opened at a special board meeting on July 20, 2017 at 6:00
p.m. at 4100 W. Coldwater Rd. Flint, MI 48504.
In accordance with Michigan Compiled Laws Section 129.201, successful
contractor(s) must obtain Performance and Payment Bonds for any Bid Category
exceeding $50,000. The Performance and Payment Bonds shall be in an amount
equal to the contract amount. The Performance and Payment Bonds shall be
solely for the protection of Northridge Academy. The Performance and Payment
Bonds shall be executed by a surety company authorized to do business in the
State of Michigan and be listed in the Federal Register or have an AM Best Rating
of B+ or better.
As required by MCL 380.1267, all bids must be accompanied by a sworn and
notarized statement disclosing any familial relationship that exists between the
owner or any employee of the Bidder and any member of the Board of Education
or the Superintendent of the single school district. The Owner will not accept a
bid that does not include this sworn and notarized disclosure statement.
Northridge Academy reserves the right to reject any or all bids in whole or in part
and to waive irregularities or informalities in bids and to accept any bid which is in
the Owner’s best interest.
