ELIGIBILITY
To be eligible for these competitions, you must be a financial 2013 MUTC member. Nonmembers can apply to participate in these competitions in the unlikely event that vacancies
exist; however, non-members must pay an additional levy of $30 per selection in addition to
the Entry Fee. Entries will be processed in order of receipt. Entries will close as soon as all
available places are filled.
TENNIS STANDARD / PREVIOUS COMPETITION EXPERIENCE
All players are required to provide a self-assessment of their standard to assist with allocating
players to the appropriate competition and teams. New players may be required to attend a
grading session in Week 1 or 2 of Semester. Playing statistics from returning players will be
utilized to allocate players to teams. At the discretion of the committee, players may be moved
to a more appropriate standard of competition.
Please note that new club members are given priority entry into the singles competition and
match practice sessions
REGIONAL COMPETITIONS
Bayside Regional Tennis Association Pennant Competition is for advanced level players. There are only places for 4
teams (approximately 24 players in total). The options include men’s singles/doubles, women’s singles/doubles and
mixed doubles. The selection of players into the teams and the grading of those teams is at the discretion of the MUTC
committee and the decision of the MUTC committee is final. Ideally players should have access to a vehicle to travel to
away matches. More information about the competition is available at http://www.baysidetennis.asn.au
INTERNAL CLUB COMPETITIONS

competitions, must be able to sustain a fast paced rally of at least 6 shots, must be able to serve consistently with power
and must understand the strategy of match play.

standard is below the 20th seeding. A certain number of places may be reserved for new players who are of a sufficient
level to be competitive in this competition. Late entries will not be accepted.
Women’s Singles / Doubles will be divided into various grades to suit those who select this option. Therefore, this

competitive-advanced grade should have had at least 3 years experience in playing club or regional competitions, must
be able to sustain a fast paced rally of at least 6 shots, must be able to serve consistently with power and must
understand the strategy of match play. Those selecting the recreational-intermediate grade are relatively new to
