Welcome and Introductions
Aims of the evening
• To set out minimum expectations of coaches for next term
• To introduce and share ideas for next term’s 1st topic
• To complete MoF Child Protection training for all coaches
Introductions…
MoF – programme overview
• 10 years old this summer
• Pathway from 4 years old to 16 years old, mainly in Futsal
• 152 spaces on the programme – children of all abilities, grouped by
ability, age, size/speed, focus (no advertising budget)
• Close networks and relationships with parents and families
Key ingredient to success – coaches and coaching
We are deliberately small, with high expectations

Key aspects
Arrival by 3.40pm latest to help set-up area
Help with warm-up (all children together)
Ball familiarity, ball control, ball mastery activities
Give homework and check homework each week, build a set of ball-each
activities that the group work on (develops each week) – include parents
Activities that develop game understanding:
• Red – area games, follow-the-leader games, dribble games etc
• Blue – plus 1v1s
• Yellow – plus 2v2s/3v3s
Sunday 5pm, 6pm & 7pm sessions
Key elements (non-negotiables!)
1. High Active Learning Time
• Bib children while they are active
• Give individual help and attention where possible rather than stopping whole
group
• Give activity to return to after a drink break
• Never use queues
2. Build and link sessions from one week to the next – based on topic
(plan your sessions)
3. De-brief with parents at end of session each week
