Coaches Guide
Online registration and coaches certification instructions.
1. Log onto North Lakeland Football League website.
2. If you haven’t registered yet, click on the “CLICK HERE TO
REGISTER NOW BUTTON” on the page.
3. If you have already registered for the 2016 Fall Season
online, proceed to section, labeled “USA Football
Certification Steps”. Otherwise continue to step 4.
4. Click on “2016 Season – COACHES” for Cheer, Flag, or
Tackle. This will bring you to USA Football Screen
Account login screen. If this is your first time, you will
click on “Create A New Account”.
5. Fill out all information and remember to write down your
username and password. You will need this later when
you apply for your coaching certification, if applicable.
6. The following screen will appear:
7. You will select your name for participant to register.
8. Click Next
9. The next registration screen displays all options for
coaching. Select which division you want to coach in. If
you are volunteering to coach in multiple divisions, then
select one.

Fill out all mandatory fields.

For Coaches License enter your current USAF Coach
Certification number if applicable. If your certification
expires before the end of the season, you will require a
new one through USA Football (This will be covered
further down).

Select the position you are applying for (Head Coach,
Assistant Coach etc.)

Click box below Background Check Disclosure and
Authorize notice. Once you give your electronic signature
you authorize NLVFL to run a background check on you.
Background checks cost $10.00. All coaches must bring
$10.00 to NLVFL Treasurer, Jody Smallwood.

Registration is now complete. If your coaching
certification expires during the season or you are a new
coaching volunteer you will need to complete the
following steps location below.
USA Football Certification Steps
North Lakeland Volunteer Football League is pleased to be participating in Heads Up
Football®, USA Football’s player safety program. A comprehensive method to teaching
the sport’s fundamentals in a progressive, age-based approach, Heads Up Football®
helps youth football leagues and clubs across the United States ensure a better,
safer experience for players, coaches, commissioners and parents.
1. Go to the following link: USA Football
2. Click on the “Log In” and sign into the website using
the username and password created during the
coaching registration on NLVFL website.
3. Once you are logged in to your USA Football
account, select “Join Now $25 per year”.
Note: To only pay $10 : (You must use the code during registration or
renewal of your Coach Account to receive the discounted Heads Up
Football® rate and so we can track your certification status.) This
will be done in step 7.

4. National Affiliation will be, “No National Affiliation”
5. Enter “North Lakeland Volunteer Football League” in
“Your League Field”.
6. Once you click submit to terms and Service you will
get the Checkout page
7. Enter northlakeland16 in promo code.
8. Enter your payment information. This webpage is
secure, notice the “https” in the web address.
9. Once payment is processed you will have access to
your “Coaches” page. You will get there by clicking
on the “Coaches” tab at the top of USA Football
website.

All coaches must complete Level 1 Certification.
If you are coaching flag, then you have to complete
the Flag Certification.

Once you complete your Certification, you will
return to your “Coaches” page.
12. Under the “Coach Management Center” you
can select “Print Membership Card”. You will be
required to have your certification card when you
are on the field.
Note: Level 2 Certification is optional, but this does not
cost anything and can only benefit your coaching skills.
NLVFL Board highly recommends Head Coaches to
complete their Level 2 Certification.




