Remedy’s ARSystem User Tool Installation
Remedy’s ARSystem User tool is a PC client that is used to access the C3
application. This document provides the instructions for downloading the
Remedy ARSystem User tool from GW Help Desk Software web site.
Step 1:
Use the URL below in your Internet Explorer to connect to the GW Help
Desk web site (ENSURE THAT REMEDY IS CLOSED):

Step 2:
The screen below will appear in your Internet Explorer. Click on the
Remedy Windows client.
Step 3:
The File Download dialog will be displayed. Click on “Run”.
Step 4:
The File download will now begin. You will be warned “unknown
publisher”, disregard and select “Run”.
Step 5:
At this point the install process will begin by selecting “install”…
Step 6:
This installs a file (Remedy v. 6.3) to your desktop containing the
software….

Click on the file to open and then select “steup.exe” to begin the install….
Step 8
Select “English” to start the correct language and installation….
Step 9
For the next several screens, accept the defaults by pressing the next step
or I Agree as indicated by the following screen shots:
Step 10:
The program will now begin to install as shown by the file progress
bars…the server “newfozzy.nit.gwu.edu” is the default server listed and
should be the one added as it is the correct server for the application to
point to.
Step 11:
When the installation process completes, you will be asked to reboot your
PC. It is recommended that you reboot at this time by accepting the default
and pressing Finish.
Step 12:
When you PC has rebooted, start the Action Request System by clicking on
Start, highlighting the Action Request System entry and selecting the
Remedy User. This will launch the Action Request System User tool.
Step 13:
Login dialog is displayed, enter you User ID (your LDAP user ID which is
your e-mail address without the @gwu.edu). Then enter your e-mail
password. After typing your password, either press the Enter key or OK.

Step 13:
You should now be logged in to the tool and you will see a blank screen
since this is the first time you have entered the tool. From the file pull
down, select Open then Object List. This brings up the Open dialog with a
list of forms available to you. This list will vary based on your department.
From the list, which is in alphabetical order, select the appropriate form for
use and you may begin using the application…(see next two screen
captures)
