Nurses Choice Awards and Scholarship Luncheon
The Ohio Nurses Foundation hosts the annual Nurses Choice Awards & Scholarship Luncheon in
March or April at the Blackwell Hotel in Columbus.
The Foundation continually strives to enrich the lives of nurses and nursing students in Ohio. One of
the ways in which ONF meets this objective is through the ONF Scholarship and Research Grant
Fund. Since its inception in 2002, the Foundation has proudly distributed nearly $115,000 directly to
exceptional nursing students and nurse researchers that meet scholarship and grant criteria. Criteria
and applications for scholarships and grants can be found at http://ohionursesfoundation.org/.
ONF also recognizes organizations and individuals who support nursing in Ohio at the annual NCA
Luncheon. Below are the criteria for nominations:
Categories:
Nurses Choice – Individual
Criteria – An Individual who is not a nurse or a legislator who has made a contribution to nursing.
Nurses Choice – Organization
Criteria – An organization that shows that they value nurses.
Nurses Choice – Media
Criteria – A media campaign that portrays nursing in a positive light.
Award Nomination Process:

Submit a narrative of not more than 100 words describing how the nominee meets the criteria.

Include Up to 3 letters of support.
►
In the case of the media award - a copy or sample of the campaign or media coverage or tape is
to be submitted.
►
Nominations should be sent to Gingy Harshey-Meade, Ohio Nurses Foundation, 4000 E. Main
Street, Columbus, Ohio 43213 by the first week of February of each year.
►
The Awards will be presented at the annual Nurses Choice Awards Luncheon.

Be a Table Captain!
Help give back to ONF by becoming a Table Captain for the Awards Luncheon. As a table captain you
will be responsible for recruiting enough people to fill a table (7-10) at the luncheon, including
yourself. ONF will provide you with invitations and a script to help you invite and confirm attendance
for your guests.
Your guests can be anyone, including business associates, personal friends or family. They need not
be familiar with the ins and outs of the nursing profession because almost everyone has had some
interaction with a nurse.
