Justin and Ryan Enns of our congregation passed away on Saturday, May
27. The funeral was on Saturday, June 3 in Selkirk. We pray for God’s
blessing and peace for Mike, Darlene and their entire family.

Riverton Fellowship Circle, a small congregation about 125 north of
Winnipeg. Every two or three months we provide preaching support and
every summer our youth staff the church's vacation Bible school for
children in the community. More recently, our church committed $8,000 per
year to help the Riverton Fellowship Circle to hire Sam Bergen, their first
salaried minister in many years. This Sunday a service of licensing Sam as
a minister in Mennonite Church Manitoba will take place in Riverton.
Together with the Riverton Fellowship Circle we thank God for providing a
capable and godly minister in Sam and we pray for God's blessing on his
ministry.
• A Giving Box Project: Canadian Foodgrains Bank / FOCUS. Since

2008, DMC has generously supported the Portage la Prairie Canadian
Foodgrains Bank grow projects by donating funds to help cover costs. The
Portage la Prairie FOCUS group will seed 430 acres of land for 2017 and
would appreciate DMC’s support again. If you wish to participate, please
put your donation in the Giving Box near the entrance of the sanctuary for
May 28, June 4 and 11. Please make cheques out to Douglas Mennonite
Church.
PRAYER RETREAT – you are invited to participate in an all-day prayer
retreat at St. Benedict's on Saturday, June 24. More details to come.

CANADIAN MENNONITE UNIVERSITY
• From June 12-16 and 19-23 over 150 students from Canada and around
the globe (including Somalia, Iraq, Bangladesh, Ukraine, Ethiopia, Jordan,
Iran, Argentina…) will be enrolled in one-week peace building courses as
part of CMU’s Canadian School of Peacebuilding. In our world’s present
political climate their commitment to peace-building is more critical than
ever. Please hold them in your prayers.
• Shi'a Muslim-Mennonite Christian Dialogue 7 – The 7th in an
international series of events where Mennonite and Shi’a Muslim scholars
and youth give presentations and engage in meaningful dialogue will take
