PETER AND THE WOLF
HANSEL AND GRETEL
The Youth Ballet of Worcester is hard at work
preparing for two performances of Peter and the
Wolf and Hansel and Gretel at the Hanover Theatre
for the Performing Arts. Both these shows are on
February 25. The first show is presented for
school-aged children and starts at 10:00am. The
second show is open to the public and starts at
6:00pm. Please help us get the word out about
this show via social media, word-of-mouth, or
contacting your student’s school. The cost for
students at the 10:00am show is $12. Also, if you
would like to volunteer to help backstage for
either or both shows, please contact Miss
Charlotte at [email protected] or Miss Jen
at [email protected].
ANDRIA LAROCCO
It is with sadness that we report that our
contemporary teacher, Miss Andria LaRocco will
be leaving BAW. She will be moving to Florida
next month in an effort to further her dance
career. Though she was with us a short time, she
made such a positive impact on our students
with her beautiful personality and her expertise
in contemporary dance. We are sad to see her go,
but wish her much luck and success in Florida.
MID-YEAR STUDENT EVALUATIONS
Some students will receive mid-year evaluations
in February. These evaluations are presented to
the students so they can be made aware of their
progress from the first 16 weeks of the 1st
semester. Evaluations will also give insight as to
where future placement may be. If you have
questions or would like to discuss the evaluation,
please schedule a time to meet with Miss Jen and
the instructor(s). If you would like to request an
evaluation, please contact Miss Jen or Miss
Charlotte.

INCLEMENT WEATHER
BAW does NOT follow Worcester County public
school closings during inclement weather. Many
times, the snow in the morning is gone by class
time. Miss Jen will make the decision to close the
school and cancel classes by 12:30.
Class
cancellations will be posted on the Ballet Arts
Worcester Facebook page and the calendar page
on the BAW website (balletartsworcester.com).
Miss Jen will also send out an email blast and will
change the message on the school’s voice mail if
classes are cancelled. If classes are not cancelled
but you do not feel safe coming to the school
please stay home. The class may be made up at a
later date. Our first priority is that everyone is
safe!
